Surely Negredo. He will likely be unavailable for 3 of the 6 group games (some possibility he'll be back in time to make that 2 of the 6) and the squad can be revised in February for the knockout rounds. Plus we don't need 4 strikers in Europe that much if we opt to use a 3-man midfield in the Champions League.

So with Mangala done and Garcia on his way out, still one more person has to be cut from the CL squad. So who is it going to be?

Hazard guess, Demichelis.

Won't be MDM (would be delighted if it was Hazard though!). If VK or EM are out, we would be dangerously thin at CB. More likely in the first half of the season to omit Negredo while he is injured and likely to miss a number of games. With three other strikers we should be able to cope. One other thing. We might as well just name a 20 man squad because if we are to field Boyata then we might as well kiss goodbye to the trophy.

We're deeper at CB than we are anywhere else with Kompany, Mangala, Nastasic, Rekik, Sagna and Boyata, even without Demichelis. I'd rather have Kompany out and Nastasic to bring in than Hart out and Wright to bring in. We're not that stocked up front either so I'd only leave Negredo out if his injury is very serious.
