Why do you actually think its a good game offline?

My FIFA 09 on my Playstation 2 looks very poor by comparison. So for all you FIFA nuts out their I have a couple of genuine questions before I give this years offering another chance. The two main features I like about PES is the classic teams and the way players develop on the Master League (my Nihat on PES2008 is ridiculously good, I call him Captain Fantastico).
So first off are there classic teams on FIFA and secondly assuming there is a Master League type feature on FIFA can you buy young talented players like Marek Hamsik and Aaron Ramsey and watch them develop over a few seasons like you can in PES? In fact do the players have all the player stats like they do in PES? These are the features which have kept me playing PES year after year and I wouldn't even buy PES without them.
BTW I will probably be getting it on PS3 ;)
Bluemoon115 said:Yeah, it's called Manager Mode and includes way more teams than PES. The players do develop but it depends on several true to life factors, such as how good your club is at developing players (you upgrade each position), how often they play etc. You can also scout generic players (more realistic than the PES regens) but again, how good they are depends on how good your clubs scouts are.
And I'm not too sure about classic teams tbh.

Hmmm, you see this is the problem with Fifa. They're trying too hard to make it too much of a simulation and less of a game. I think everyone agrees that PES despite it's clear failings is the best pick up and play game of the two. I don't want complicated button presses to score great goals, I just want to have fun. I don't want players to develop realistically I want to have an almost super human Nihat! LOL. I will of course be getting Fifa regardless because I have a son who will want it. But when we play each other it's always on PES and we play as the classic teams against each other (Usually Netherlands Vs Brazil). I just wish they'd improve the many irritations I've had with the game since PES 2!!! I could write a book but I won't.

But isnt that what FIFA used to be? The pick it up, welly it and score type?
