Why do some people seem to think PES is so poor?

Going off the demo, it is going to be one of the best footy sims ever. The animations and player movements are so realistic, the graphics are so much better than the cartoons of Fifa, it is genuinely difficult to break down defences and score,
players and teams have adopted characteristics, and the ball physics are great.

For those saying it is bad, give it a few more games. Admittedly it takes some getting used to it but when you do, it is a really great game, and, dare I say it, it is going to be better than Fifa.

Played pes all my life uptil march this year. The new one has gone backwards. The pitches look shite the camera's wank and I score for fun.

I think you will be able to change the camera angle in the full version because I admit it isn't great. If you score for fun though it must because you are a good PES player, or you don't play on 'top player' or you are Barcelona all the time.

FIFA - up to standard - improved graphics - new 8 way player scan tech is insane. I hope some of the city team has the 'real' look. The gameplay now requires a lot of skill, no more ping pong shite. Be a keeper is a blast and manager mode has been reworked from the bottom up and looks the tits.

If you were to compare a real life game to pro evo and fifa, pro evo is the far more realistic game. As ono has said, the game only seems robotic because you're used to air-hockey like fifa speeds. Fifa is made for casual football fans, pes is for the hardcores.

Rubbish graphics? Are you on crack? :p

'Robotic' gameplay is in place to mimic real life body balance and first touch. Fifa has an automatic first touch and balance system, which while it makes the game feel fluid, it takes away all realism.

Like carrconormcfc said, Fifa is very similar to air hockey. There's no depth to the pitch, and players feel like they are floating slightly above it. The pitches do however look quite nice compared to the cartoony Fifa10 pitches.

The problem is, if you're happy with Fifa because of how easy it is to pick up and enjoy and if you like it because of how fluid it plays, then there is no reason to even attempt to play PES, which imo is a shame. PES11 is the best football game i've ever played, but if i was coming from religiously playing Fifa 10 and Fifa World Cup, i don't reckon i'd ever get round to appreciating it.

It has a depth that Fifa can only dream of.

Ono, you have either

A. Not played Fifa 11 on a next gen console or
B. Blinded by some form of loyalty you hold to a football game.

I don't care about the name on it; i'll just play whichever i think is best. For a good few years now thats been FIFA.

PES hasn't had the depth FIFA has had since around 07/08... this year i'd put FIFA's graphics ahead of PES, which never used to be the case (except in PES replays which are better than both in game).

If you think FIFA 11 is a "pick up and play" game then you're either playing on amateur or extremely ignorant.
