played the early release yesterday, here are some notes:-

- Nastasic still 77
- They added our white kit but with black shorts n socks
- Headers are over powered
- Finesse shots are over powered
- The game still feels slow as it was in the demo
- First touch is horrible
- The online game is not about pace anymore which is good
- The online can put you in match with our white kit vs Real Madrid's white kit..

was this Imars release, or legit pre release?

legit.

Heading is so fucking broken. In 13 scoring a goal with your head was a challenge and I hardly scored any. I'm two games in so far and I have scored 8 fucking headers. The defenders don't close you down or fight for the ball they stand there like statues giving you a free header which you always seem to get to go right in the corner giving the keeper no chance. It's just all too easy. They really have ruined the game.

Re: Fifa 14 Demo

Got my copy this morning. Has to be one of the most disappointing games I have ever played, especially after the hype. Even the celebrations at the end of the match are the same! Dribbling is harder and slower and its still near impossible to score across goal. Some of the player likenesses are even worse. Vidic looked nothing like his real life counterpart and had ginger hair!?!?! Looked like a right muppet shaking hands with Kompany.

So disappointing. Glad it only cost me about £32, I would be interested to see if they have done this on purpose and then have the next gen console game entirely superior, just to force peoples hands. I hope when I play online it keeps its charm.

You may have a point when it comes to the overall graphics/add ons of the game.

I've had abit of time on the demo now and I think the gameplay itself is overall better though. You have to think more when it comes to creating chances and you're able to make better passes. Once noticeable thing for me is you can now slot the ball through behind the defenders, previously it was a stupid annoyance.

Overall though, yes, it is abit lazy of EA. Look at games like GTA & AC and how advanced they become each time. Problem is, regardless of how half arsed they make FIFA, it will always sell big, meaning they don't have to do anything to improve it. They have very little competition, Pro Evo? FIFA hold the rights to practically everything. I thought even by now they would somehow have every stadium on the damn game. Not entirely sure what to expect next year. The previous three though have been abit flat though, not much progress.

The big issue was probably the fact that I had GTA not too long ago and was blown away by its brilliance. This Fifa is just lazy. In terms of the game, take away the updated kits and transfers etc, it just feels like fifa 13 with a downloaded update, if that.

Re: Fifa 14 Demo

I really don't understand why FIFA is so popular, but alot of what I have heard is that it is becuase Pro Evo doesn't have all the teams/players/stadiums.

But in the end who really cares?

Surely gameplay wins overall.

I admit I am a Pro Evo player from way back. Pro Evo 4 and 5 were in my opinion the best. Then they lost track for a few years, but last years version was very good gameplay wise. I have played FIFA through the years as every other man and his dog has it. However, gameplay wise it still doesn't feel right. Maybe I'm biased but at least I've tried playing both, whereas the majority of FIFA players write off Pro Evo because of the reasons mentioned without even playing it. Anyway options files fix most of these things easily.

I only ever play any of these games against my housemates. Playing against the AI is pointless, and playing online is the same as everyone simply picks the better teams. It makes it increasingly boring. When I play against my housemates, we have a rule - you have three chances to pick a random team by holding the square button down. Then you pick the best out of your three options. Keeps it interesting and means you have games where people don't just rely on a star studded line up to win, that is, unless you happen to be lucky and pick City.

Have you played Fifa online? You get matched against a similar rated team. If you pick Southampton, you'll play somebody that is using Stoke/ Villa etc. If you decide to pick City, the chances are you'll be playing another top team.
