Fifa 14

Re: Fifa 14 Demo

Don't understand why people hate it.

Was playing last night, against the CPU, and so many times I had to just pass the ball from left to right, forcing players to make runs and wait for the gap in defence then stick a ball through. It's almost identical to watching City. I had to use Silva and Navas to roam around and kept passing it to Yaya, then he played a through ball from deep for Navas who scored across the keeper. Yes it's hard and maybe boring, but I think it's extremely realistic.

Problem is a lot of people are used to pace and skill moves and playing Fifa like an arcade game. Those people will hate this Fifa.

Personally believe the build up play is the closest thing to realism they've ever managed. Whether people want that in a game however, is another question.

Fully agree, its a big change in the realism when it comes to the gameplay and most people will need to adapt to enjoy it.

To be fair, I noticed last night that you can now actually knock it around between the back four and midfield and it looks realistic, you have some time on the ball without the striker hunting you like a heat seeking missile on crack.

I am still yet to beat anyone online though. I am starting to realise that I am going to have to be patient and wait for the gaps etc. I havent lost by anymore than 2 goals though tbf! I think to score 5+ goals is going to be very difficult.

Anyone got any tips for ultimate team? I have a Serie A team but we are rubbish, what formation to use?

It just struck me that they have turned Fifa into an English style football game. Shit first touches, big advantage for players with high strength, improved aerial long balls, impossible to dribble past defenders, Basically Stoke will be the best team in the game...

Do you mean realistic? If you want an arcade type football game buy Pro Evo

I'm using 442 (2) with the two cdms. Works a charm. Try and aim for generally taller players.

When it comes to defending, don't rush and hold line.

Ive decided to experiment with a bundesliga team as I had good success with them last season. Gone 4-5-1 with 2 CAM's and the wingers further back, this way I can try and flood the midfield and go for slow build ups through the middle or if I need to I can spray it wide to the fast men on the wings.

No I mean the game is broken. If you look at players like Messi and Neymar their main strengths are they can change direction with the ball so quickly and dribble their way out of trouble in Fifa 14 you can't. You look at players like Ronaldo and Bale and their main strengths are their pace and power in Fifa 14 even the slowest fullbacks can keep up with them. Add to that that I have scored pretty much every header I've gone for and the over the top balls are sucessful time after time. I can see what they were trying to do but they've implemented it badly and I've not even got round to the bugs they have still yet to fix which have been there the last 2-3 titles. EA are just lazy and just slapping on some half cooked features and updating the teams and raking in the cash.

Agreed. The players seem to make more intelligent runs, more often too. It does make it far more realistic, shooting seems to have improved slightly too, although, I'm just going off the demo. Hopefully the postie will have dropped my copy off when I get home from work.

I think one thing they did get wrong was the ball control, whilst I appreciate players take bad touches, especially when sprinting, and this gives the defenders ample chance to make well timed challenges, for me its too much. At the end of the day they are professional footballers and most have immaculate control. Again tho, its much much easier and rewarding to perform a well timed slide tackle on Fifa14 and actually win the ball.

Just look at players like Messi, Xavi, Silva, Ozil etc etc. You could smash the ball at them point blank and they would have a great touch and turn. On fifa you pass from 10 yards away and they can mess up. WHAT IS HAPPENING

Re: Fifa 14 Demo
