German football legend Franz Beckenbauer has become the latest high-profile figure to be investigated by FIFA's ethics committee.

In a statement, FIFA said that proceedings relating both to Beckenbauer and to another official, the former Spain player Ángel María Villar Llona, had already been passed to the ethics committee's adjudicatory chamber.
