I missed today's games but just watched the highlights. Some cracking goals today. Brugts two goals for Netherlands were class, especially the second.
Yes it could have been. England played well and it is all about gathering momentum as we progress throughout the tournament. Plus some really good finishing to excellent teamwork. It could have been 9-0
A win's a win - even if it was against the China U15 boys team!Ffs they played china it’s like city playing bury:)
I hope so; it ought to be.Didn't expect us to change formation for this game but it's working really well. Playing as a wing-back neutralises Bronze's defensive deficiences and still allows her to be an attacking threat. 3 very good goals with a 4th sadly ruled out with that strange offside call. Hempo looks good in that central free role and took her goal really well.
Will be interesting if this formation will be continued further in the tournament.
Seriously?Seem to be doing better at sports since leaving the EU seemingly enough....
- Euro 2020 finalists in 2021
- Women's Euro 2022 winners
- Man City win European Cup
- West Ham win Conference League
- Premier League moved back to No.1 in the UEFA co-efficent. Last time it was at the summit the UK was still in the EU
- UEFA U-21 Championship winners
- Men's Cricket team should have won the ashes, but the weather had other ideas. Still, they were miles better than Australia over the last few tests
- Women's football team seemingly favourites to win the World Cup and have raised the bar all in one game
Still cannot break the 16 year duck in the Women's UEFA Champions League though. Chelsea have since come the closest since Arsenal's 2007 treble winning season losing 4-0 to Barcelona in 2021.
Also worthy of note, the 1966 World Cup was won while the UK was not in the EU or EC for that matter. Will all England's international senior level trophies be all won outside the EU either side of not being in it (before 1973 and after 2021?). England failed to qualify for two World Cups in a row after joining it.
I thought I'd died. School trial, Greenbank PF, thoroughly wet week followed by a monsoon on the Saturday, leather casey. I headed it. Thought my head was gonna explode. After I'd given the ball everything I had it dropped at my feet. How many people have ever died, in football, from being hit in the head by a football! It's crazy that as soon as it happens nowadays that players go down waiting for a brain scan or something. (Unless it is to your advantage to stay on your feet) I wish they could stop that, it's all going totally divisive)
I'm off to the pet hates thread.
It's not just one hit though that can cause damage as witnessed by older footballers suffering from Alzamheirs. Did you watch the documentary by Alan Shearer and the reports over the past few years about the dangers of heading? Plus how they have (if memory serves me correctly) banned heading in under 15's football. How many people have ever died, in football, from being hit in the head by a football!
