Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but Scarface fits the subject of this thread perfectly.

That's the correct answer! Scarface nails it. Most people go along with it and think it's cool as fuck whereas actually it's pretty naff.
Definitely agree with this.

Are you on drugs? Or do you just not enjoy watching films?

I love watching films, I just think these are definitely over rated. Not terrible by any means just the kind of films that people talk about as if they are ground breaking but really aren't. Its like how batman got to number one on imdb all time film charts.

Right, you just think people go on about them too much. Fair enough I suppose, but the idea of the thread is that you are supposed to dislike the film in question. And all those above are good films in my opinion.

I know mate, I'm thinking about starting a thread called "Films people think are cool which you think it's cool to call poo even though they are actually pretty good".

The Matrix 2 & 3 .. shame as the first one is a classic

Terminator 4

All of the Lord of the rings

Harry Potter's

Airplane

Anchorman

Dodgeball

and sorry for this one ... Starwars

Can't agree with the ones in bold I'm afraid. Lord of the Rings is the greatest story ever told in my opinion, it set a precedent for all fantasy stories and demonstrates the quintessential battle between good and evil. The films are excellent portrayals of a world that has more depth and detail than any author in the 50 years since has been able to reproduce (yeah I'm a nerd, sue me ;)).

Airplane! I suppose it's a personal taste thing but first time I watched it, I thought it was hilarious. Possibly one of the most quotable things of all time.

Dodgeball, granted Ben Stiller annoys a lot of people but this for me was his finest hour. Was a great family film, nice concept and well casted. Still can easily watch through it casually despite how many times I've seen it.

However, STAR WARS, yes. I agree with you in spades. Star Wars I find very very dull. I couldn't even watch through a whole one because I just got bored. I've tried to watch three of them now and never made it through one. I just think it tries too hard to have depth when it's got very little and the basic story line is predictable. It's typical sci-fi, when all looks hopeless, invent a new technology to save the day! That's why I don't like sci-fi, it's all a bit of a cop-out for me, when they just pull out their 'plutonium laser blasters' to save the day.

Terminator 4 Not poo; just not very good

All of the Lord of the rings Absolutely

Harry Potter's Absolutely

Airplane You heretic. An absolute classic. Surely you cannot be serious!!

Anchorman Absolutely

Dodgeball Absolutely

and sorry for this one ... Starwars Not the original 3, but all those bloody sequels (Natalie Portman notwithstanding!) are indeed poo
