This is a classic example of what I meant above. When younger they were incredible, but now...
Hat said, when I was younger I also liked waterworld, so I'm not sure I'm a great barometer

The godfather trilogy, on the other hand, will never get old.
Utter shite, all three of them.
No, now this I will not stand for! What made them shite to you? The stories are fantastic, the acting is great, even the music is excellent.
Di Nero in the second is a fantastic young Vito, even Garcia as sonny was quite good!

I'm not a huge fan of the genre and I found them very slow. Non of the characters were likeable and I found myself not giving a shit what happened to anyone. They bored me.

I can understand that, the genre is a big part of enjoyment. I do quite like the gangster genre, but not overly. I do really like brando, though so maybe I'm biased.
On the waterfront is his best movie in my opinion

Bronson falls into this category, as do any hooligan films, inception, most horror movies, all of the star wars movies, and sadly, upon revisiting, terminator

I'm with you on hooligan and horror films, I won't even attempt to watch them, they just aren't my cup of tea. I do like a bit of sci-fi though and loved the original Star Wars films. The new ones aren't worth a wank and I didn't even bother watching the last one.
I liked Terminator and T2 but the rest were shite.
