The Star Wars films

The Harry Potter films
Star Wars is kewl now? I thought Star Wars was generally considered geeky. Harry Potter would fall under the same category though to a lesser extent.

Schindler's List would be my nomination.

Star Wars are frequently held up as the films that saved cinema.

Cinema was dying in the 70's, audiences were down hugely, and the Star Wars films supposedly resurrected them.

They are considerted "arty" by various critics ("futuristic westerns").

well the thread is cool not arty so star wars is wrong to be mentioned

i like the star wars films think they were brilliant for their time however i wouldn't say it was "cool" to like them infact the oposite.

people just half read threads half get the idea then just post what they want anyway not directed at poster i've quoted btw.

The Matrix (still don't get it)

Chick flicks like The Notebook

Moulin Rouge (I am going to generalise and say any movie with Nicole Kidman)

The Twilight films -dreadful books and the movies were even worse.

Any film with Jack Nicholson in, with the honourable exception of The Departed.

That was pretty much the only film where his manic, hamming, 'Aren't I great', personality was appropriate but it almost knackered this film as well. The rest are shite

One Flew
Witches of Eastwick
Chinatown
