Films that were acclaimed that are actually rubbish

Blade Runner. I just don't get the hype about it. You can also chuck in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Absolute garbage.

Just an honest question, jh. (Blade Runner's up there in my top five films, out of hundreds that I've seen). My brother's got no time for it, but he says science fiction films in general bore him. Is that the case with you?

Not at all. It wouldn't be my favourite genre, that's true. But Close Encounters is one of my favourite films. Love Silent Running, the original SW trio, the second and third Star Trek films (Wrath of Khan and The Search for Spock), 2001, the first two Terminator films, Capricorn One, Outland. I just can't get into BR, and I'm not gone on the unrelenting darkness of the film. But it's got a huge (you might say, "massive"!) cult following now, so I would appear to be in the minority. So be it.

*Edit* Think calling Capricorn One a Sci fi film might be stretching it a bit though!
