Films that were acclaimed that are actually rubbish

By the way, just a point to all. Blade Runner was most definitely not acclaimed when it came out. It folded quite quickly in the cinemas, it got no Academy Awards, and it got BAFTAs for things like costume design, which no-one gives a monkey's about anyway. It was a sleeper, which gathered pace through the nineties and noughties. A bit like Withnail and I. (I've come to that particular party very, very late, by the way, mainly because of what was said about it on this very forum. I'd never heard of it before. I've still only seen clips from it, but I really want to see the whole thing now).

Black panther + all other marvel comic films
Could go on all about musicals Being shite and what ever wins the Oscar for best picture

Super hero/comic book films. They’re all dreadful! None of them have a decent storyline in them and are all predictable.

Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King.

No Country For Old Men.
Whats the fucking point in the entire film?
Agree with all those apart from Return of the King, as all 3 were shite. The director fucked about too much with a great story and turned it into utter & complete tosh in parts.

The Full Monty
East is East

Both released within a year if each other. Both were called "The funniest British film of the year".

Both were about as funny as the news is, now.

Any film with Tom Cruise, bar Rain Man. Worst actor in history.
Any Mel Brooks film. Puerile, OTT shite. Primary school level humour.
Any remake of a great film, particularly True Grit, The Magnificent Seven, The Taking of Pelham 123 and Assault on Precint 13.
