I'm sure this has been done before, I've been watching both games again and rightly or wrongly think the semi was the bigger and better game.

For the semi, it was a derby, and I always had doubts about the result even when they went down to 10. Basically I was feeling sick from the morning of the match until the final whistle. For the final I was confident throughout, and I think it was missing that bit of edge. It was a great occasion, but looking back, it was maybe a bit comfortable. The semi was also the first trip for most of us to the new Wembley.

Both great occasions, and I won't forget either, but I think the semi is the one of the two I'll keep on Sky+

After the semi I didn't think the final would beat it and up until we scored the semi was beeter for me. However, as soon as Yaya scored in the final, the final was miles better. Much more emotion in the final than in the semi, - that's code for I cried like a baby during the final but didn't during the semi.

winning the final made winning the semi that much sweeter, becuase if we had blown the final on the day the rags won the league it would have made the semi-final a distant memory.

The SF is only significant because we beat Stoke. But we wouldnt have beaten Stoke without winning the SF.

By beating Stoke, the SF victory became more important than it was at the time. So in retrospect it was the more important match.

But then the actual final victory took on another dimension because of the 35 years thing.

I dont know.

Having been lucky enough to get to both games, I'd have to say that I enjoyed the s/f more. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that i was in Club Wembley seats at the Stoke end and i was somewhat detached from the pandemonium down at the City end, whereas I was in the city end for the semi. Or perhaps the fact that we were the underdogs in the semi and that fact made the win all the sweeter combined with who it was against. Whereas we we firm favourites for the final and the pressure that that brings. Both fantastic days though (the semi being just that bit more fantastic-er!).

Both great for me, the satifaction of beating them , no fucking treble and then lifting the cup amazing and remembering putting them to the sword on the way made it even better. on balance though you cant beat winning the cup
