Pretty sure that the club would rather have used the money for something useful like supporting food banks or homeless charity.
My conversation about the size of the fine notwithstanding, it was understandable in 2012. Even though it was dramatic how we won it last year, when a side has built a rep on winning for a while, it does feel somewhat more inappropriate. Again in the US — we more often see this when underdogs upset big favo(u)rites, not when established winning teams take crowns.I personally think this highlights just how wrong pitch invasions are… fans can celebrate in the stands - why do we need to celebrate on the pitch? Watching this years pitch invasion pissed me off - it genuinely felt like the fans were denying the players their moment of glory as the players ran for cover and had to wait 10 or 15 mins before they can come out and celebrate. Needs a serious re think by all concerned…. I never remember these issues when PJS was at the helm !!!
It possibly was the heat of the moment for some small few. Maybe a lot more back in 2012, to be fair - but ever since, for me, winning on the last day is a bit like Halloween night is for certain teenagers: a miscreant's charter. They could just make it a points deduction for subsequent infractions and then it would likely police itself.
I must confess though, I do struggle to understand why people want to go on to the pitch at the end? I know some will say it’s heat of the moment and all the celebrations and excitement but that then presupposes that all the punters on levels 2 and 3 were not excited and did not celebrate, which is obviously nonsensical.
Let’s hope that’s now the end of it anyway.
It was partially that and partially that the bus couldn’t get there, unless that was in the rearranged match.Nothing but that's not what happened, right? The match was postponed because security was breached inside the stadium. Especially in this day and age -- the stadium (like an airplane at a gate) has to be "swept" before play. Had no breach occurred and the players left their hotels and tried to get to the stadium and couldn't that would be different.
You’re not very good at all this discussion business are you ?
I didn’t say I found running on the pitch to be so great did I ? And anybody who says they “know for sure I live a much more exciting life than you” (when did it become a contest btw) probably doesn’t have much fun at all
It’s not even really about going on the pitch. Some people don’t like being told what they can and can’t do.I was just responding to your earlier comments about those of us whose opinions differ from yours ie:
people are just stuck in their ways and have lives so devoid of joy that their only fun in life is trying to make everyone else as miserable as they are.
Club brought in £569.8m while playing behind closed doors during COVID-19. £260k really isn't a lot of money. Maybe next time we win the league and don't invade the pitch we could split it among the lowest paid staff in bonuses? After all they enable the players to perform their best as much as anyone. Including Guardiola. It has certainly cost the club you support alot of money
Exactly-that sums up the whole issue,It’s not even really about going on the pitch. Some people don’t like being told what they can and can’t do.
Nah I'll be on again this seasonI think that's the last time that happens we've had our fun time to behave and not get the club or more importantly the team in trouble
