Surprised Foden isn't playing at left-back and not Tront. England have tried to shoehorn Foden into lots of sub-optimal positions, might as well add left back to the list.

Unfortunately true. But at least carsley is trying someone else in the friendlies. I would have gone Pope as hes a better goalie (and hes not an demented knobhead) but his kicking is a problem

That’s the issue. Trafford didn’t look great for the U21s the other night either.

I did’t watch the Greece match but, based on the reaction articles I saw, I knew Phil would be the one scapegoated.

Bellingham is untouchable.

The majority were shite and as much as you can say Phil got ignored, when in good positions, he was also shite when he did get the ball! Bellingham was awful but scored, and that immediately covers up what went before in an England shirt. Too many know that and are playing for their own positive headlines.

Phil's never been at his best for England. For whatever reason, he tends to drift in and out of games and has only shown flashes of what he's really capable of.

His performances and achievements for City will get him into the national squad and he'll be given opportunities, but if he wants to be a key player in the national team he has to learn to play with these players and in these formations and really grab one of these matches by the scruff of the neck.

He's an incredible player but he hasn't shown it on the international stage yet.

This is true, but Bellingham is easily the worst of the bunch for playing for himself, but no matter how bad he plays, he is untouchable, as I said.

And that continues to be a huge problem for England.
