First Abu Dhabi Bank looking to buy Standard Chartered

Why? Lots of clubs are yank owned, so why not have several that have links to Abu Dhabi?

have a thionk of the relationship between City and Liverpool? Standard Charter have funded ISIS over the years, been done for money laundering and also sponsor Liverpool? After the last few days regarding sponsorships and money coming into City and Liverpool being one of the main mouthpieces against us, is it a huge coincidence that Abu Dhabi may want access to Standard Charters accounts?

I think this deal has been in the offing for a while and probably a coincidence, however, it does offer a delicious opportunity IF City want to get our mates at Klanfield being more friendly shall we say.

also if I was a Liverpool fan i would be less than thrilled at the obvious implications, gives them something to think about.

a coincidence? Probably, but a very nice one!

This is the equivalent to that song “we’ll buy your club and burn it down”.With the Qataris sniffing round PL clubs our owners are definitely upping the stakes and marking their territory

Btw I’m sure Liverpool will be happy to change their shirt sponsor logo “First Abu Dhabi Bank”.
Love this.. :)
To extend the amusement, Mubadala (headed by Khaldoon) own 38% of the First Abu Dhabi Bank and according to the FT were the driving force of the deal when the details came out in January.

Obviously all coincidental - just a c$35billion purchase.
