Why? Lots of clubs are yank owned, so why not have several that have links to Abu Dhabi?

I think this deal has been in the offing for a while and probably a coincidence, however, it does offer a delicious opportunity IF City want to get our mates at Klanfield being more friendly shall we say.

also if I was a Liverpool fan i would be less than thrilled at the obvious implications, gives them something to think about.

To extend the amusement, Mubadala (headed by Khaldoon) own 38% of the First Abu Dhabi Bank and according to the FT were the driving force of the deal when the details came out in January.

Obviously all coincidental - just a c$35billion purchase.
