Jan 1974 City v coventry, league cup 1/4 final replay
the game was played on a tuesday afternoon due to power cuts during the miners strikes so we couldnt use the floodlights. Pissed down all game.
city won 4-2 after twice being behind.
goalscorers were Franny 2, Law & Buzzer

Sept 55 City 2 Blackpool 0. Don Revie was CF, and the Scottish Puskas, Bobby Johnstone scored.

Mine was to watch us against Bury at Gigg Lane in the cup. Early 1970's.
We got beat :-(

City beat Blackpool 2-0 in 1970.

What I remember was climbing up the old iron steps to the top of the Platt Lane stand and bricking myself because I had never been so high before.

And then.....that first sight of the green pitch.....

I still get that "high" now.

Every time I go to a stadium and I see the turf I feel like a 6 year old all over again.

Oct 1974 . Week day match vrs Arsenal in a 2-1 win . Sat on the wooden benches between Platt Lane and the Main Stand . Only thing i can remember is the packed bus going and Tueart being stretchered off at the Platt Lane end .

Denis Law back heel derby, what a baptism for me (aged 9), especially as the rags were going to nick my scarf, til my old feller cottoned on and needless to say I kept my scarf ! lol . First ever Maine Road game City 2 Liverpool 0 - 14th September 1974 (Marsh /Tueart), and watched it on MOTD that night, so excited. The Arsenal night game mentioned above, remember it well, Dennis scored both our goals (ex rag Jimmy Rimmer in their net). Happy days indeed.....

1970 in Belfast v Linfield, cup winners' cup, lost 2-1.

First league game, 1974 at Goodison, lost 2-0. Some things never change.
