First ever City game

My first game was Stockport County vs City in 1975, Colin bell scored 4 goals before half time so the substituted him ;-) City won 5-0
My first home game was a 2-1 win against Bristol City at Maine Road in 1976

That was my first ever match :*) My second was the subsequent 2-5 mullering by Everton, Margetson had a shocker was swapped for Dibble at half time.

I was there when we were shit.

i remember this well. margetson fucked up so many crosses that everton ended up just playing for corners. the game was notable (and perhaps even unique in premier league history) for featuring all four keepers as everton also replaced neville southall with jason kearton during the game.

woodhall i remember that game aginst SOUTHEND i was there.1 of frank clarks games where he revived CITY FROM GOING DOWN AGAIN .The following season we did go down depressing days.

Boxing Day 1972 - Stoke City at home, drew 1-1, but absolutely brill. Sat in the North Stand. Wore the same scarf for the last QPR game!

I was sure that it finished 0-0. Apparently it was 1-1. Funnily I could remember the attendance! 33002 as my mate said that if we hadn't have gone their would have been 33000 exactly.

My main memory was as a 9 year old sitting in the old Platt Lane End with Everton fans towards the front. There then was some chanting between our lot and theirs. The Everton fans charged up, our fans charged down and a good old slugg fest ensued above my head as I ducked under the old wooden seats. Welcome to english football!

Wonder if anyone out there can remember this and was involved in the ruck?

I don't remember the ruck. However, I was at the game, and it was on Granada TV the next day. If you got there late, it may account for you remembering it as a 0-0, because, IIRC, everything worth recalling happened in the first five minutes. First, Trevor Francis got sent off for a headbutt on one of the Everton defenders (a really soft one - barely touched him). Then Adrian Heath scored a spectacular goal for them, and Kevin Bond almost immediately replied with this cracker for us:

The last 85 minutes then consisted of us, a man down, mounting a pretty dogged rearguard action and a fairly ordinary Everton team failing to break us down again. (This was Howard Kendall's first season as Everton manager, so he'd only just started the process of turning them into the great side they became a couple of years later).

Brilliant thanks for that, vaguely remember the Bond goal now. I was probably a bit busy eating one of those huge toffee hands that you could buy.

Grimsby at Maine Road. Was only little but these are the colours I seem to remember. Grimsby or Bradford I thought.
