First ever City game

My very first City game ....

1969 , Football League Cup ....

City 2-0 Everton

(We sorted Liverpool out in that succesful cup run too!)

Standard Liege at home in the UEFA cup 1978 only 6..
Remeber went to a couple more league games that year and then to Borussia Munch at home who were a class team at the time

Cant remember the game much, it was sunny, and I remember thinking City fans were ace and dead funny as I was passed from shoulders to shoulders in the corner of the Kippzx.

That was my first ever match :*) My second was the subsequent 2-5 mullering by Everton, Margetson had a shocker was swapped for Dibble at half time.

I was there when we were shit.
When you beat Chelsea at home 6-2 in 77/78 (I think). Was at St Brigids primary school, just up the road from your current ground, and they received some free tickets off the club. Then, like now, Bradford and Beswick were predominantly Utd areas so, as there weren't enough city fans to take up all the tickets the remainder were offered to any lads who were just into football.

Sat in the North Stand and I remember 2 things very clearly; City played some outstanding football and Helen was unbelievably annoying with that bell!!

I was there when you were pretty good! ;-)

My first recollection is against swansea, and I can remember everyone singing "we're all off to sunny Spain.....so fuck off Welsh bastards".(ref World Cup 82)
So it must have been a 4 nil home win in November 81.
I could not have guessed that score though

Can't remember the exact date but it was in the 80's away at Watford in an FA Cup tie think it ended 0-0 and I think we last the replay at Maine Road

City v Tottenham Hotspur City won 2 - 1 goals from Wayne Clarke and Mark Ward ( Penalty ) after Paul Gascoigne rounded Tony Coton to put spurs 1 - 0 up i was stood on the Kippax aged 16, City played in there Maroon kit due to fog outside Maine Road and once i felt the noise of the kippax i was hooked and have been ever since.

25/11/1967 Burnley H Division One (Old) 4-2
Ah Maine Road, and the good old 53 bus.It was a struggle getting out of the ground in those days, usually fans all going through one gate of there chosen stand. My peers took me to the match and I lost them in the crush.Lost in Moss side.I found the 53 bus stop, never been so happy to see Belle Vue,indicating I was going in the right direction.Won the League,Division 1,that season.

Remember sounds and smells but little about the game.
