First ever City game

I've only been to two City games in my life. This one was the first...
April 91-92

Was an awesome day. Leeds were champs that year and we stuffed them 4-0, will never forget Quinn's chip... amazing....

Lots of "You are shit" singing after the 4th goal - a real treat!!

Went to one more game the following year - we drew 3-3 with Oldham!. 10 goals in 2 games... I'll take it....

I was sure that it finished 0-0. Apparently it was 1-1. Funnily I could remember the attendance! 33002 as my mate said that if we hadn't have gone their would have been 33000 exactly.

My main memory was as a 9 year old sitting in the old Platt Lane End with Everton fans towards the front. There then was some chanting between our lot and theirs. The Everton fans charged up, our fans charged down and a good old slugg fest ensued above my head as I ducked under the old wooden seats. Welcome to english football!

Wonder if anyone out there can remember this and was involved in the ruck?

I don't remember the ruck. However, I was at the game, and it was on Granada TV the next day. If you got there late, it may account for you remembering it as a 0-0, because, IIRC, everything worth recalling happened in the first five minutes. First, Trevor Francis got sent off for a headbutt on one of the Everton defenders (a really soft one - barely touched him). Then Adrian Heath scored a spectacular goal for them, and Kevin Bond almost immediately replied with this cracker for us:

The last 85 minutes then consisted of us, a man down, mounting a pretty dogged rearguard action and a fairly ordinary Everton team failing to break us down again. (This was Howard Kendall's first season as Everton manager, so he'd only just started the process of turning them into the great side they became a couple of years later).

My first game: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/History/Matches/Match.aspx?id=3666" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/History/ ... px?id=3666</a>

I have no recollection of it whatsoever, I was only 6mths old, according to my parents this is the game (only lived stonethrow from Gigg lane)

That game was played at Old Trafford, I think, for security reasons. (Or rather, I suspect, Bury used security reasons as an excuse for getting it moved because they thought they'd get a bigger crowd at OT).

My first, meanwhile, was this one: http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/History/Matches/Match.aspx?id=3135.

Leeds United (H)

Division One (Old)
Fri 26 December 1975.

Score: L 0-1

Attendance: 48077

End of an 18-game unbeaten run in all competitions (several of those were League Cup ties, in the season we eventually won that trophy). I was 6 years old and remember nothing of the match itself, but I've been told that we absolutely battered them that day, couldn't score and were done by a goal on the break near the end, scored by Paul Madeley.

First game at Maine Road

Manchester United (H)

Division One (Old)

Wed 15 May 1963.

Score: D 1-1

First ever game

Manchester United (A)

Division One (Old)

Sat 15 September 1962.

Score: W 3-2

sat 6th october 1984 v oxford 1-0 win ,just renewed my season tickets for the 27th year! effin glory hunter!

Mine too. A bit of a struggle but Steve Kinsey got one near the end. Not great football but the Kippax, as always, was anazing and even better for the final game of the season against Charlton.

My Dad, a Londoner by then living in Didsbury, was a post-Munich convert to United, so took me along to OT in 1964 to see them play Spurs. They won 4-1, there were sendings off, broken legs and a hat trick for Best, I think. A couple of weeks later, my big brother took me see City Reserves play Plymouth Argyle Reserves and it was a goalless draw. Converted for life...
