its not a just a game of football anymore its all about tv (sky&BT) and time slots for over seas tv time zones

put them back on a Saturday 3.00pm kick off and work around the football clubs and fans

We play Toon on Monday night.
Rags on Sunday.

Yes, anything other than a 3pm Saturday kick-off is shit for the real paying fans.

However, the other side of the coin is that TV and Sky have a huge say in what teams are televised by virtue of the amount of money being pumped into the league. So since we are now one of the top 4 clubs, we are a big draw for TV and thus it is a compliment that we would get showcase exposure in the opening weekend.
