mid seventies .....

Gamecock pub ....... nr Boundary Lane , Hulme (long gone now)

Pheonix pub/club ..... corner of Oxford Road/Booth Street
I used to work in The Gamecock!

Hehe!

What a small world!

I'm glad that the bar staff back then weren't too fussy about asking your age ..... i just walked in 'sheepishly' and asked for a pint in a rather 'deep voice'!

First pub : Birch Villa, corner Wilmslow and Dickenson Roads, Rusholme 1963

First Club : Wilton Club, Cromford Court, off Market Street (before Arndale was built) 1963

First pub Woodman on Oldham rd.pint of Magnet or Hoffmeister, can't remember which.
Club was the Memory Inn,or the Ashton school of fighting as it was known.
Rough as arseholes, soon graduated to Carriages and Smokies(if we were flush).
Got knocked back once in Ashton,Black Vaults week before my eighteenth, the landlord's daughter said she'd come to my eighteenth party and her dad took my pint off me.
Had to wait for my mates next door at the Pitt and Nelson.

First pub I went in......I can't remember, but it was probably about 12p a pint!

I think it was The Unicorn in Altrincham, but it could have been The Moss in Hale.

The first club I went in was Rafters, I think, where Rockworld was/is now.

On Oxford Road in Manchester, anyway.
