Five years that's all we got.

I'm with you on De Rossi, didnt want to come, simple as.

If it's true that he had to sell for RVP, fair enough. But we played 2 up top at the time and did need 4. We lost Tevez, didn't replace like with like in terms of quality(Jovetic).

He had also handed his notice in, effectively blackmailing the club into a me or Txiki situation and with that, it literally put everything on hold.

Our owner has backed everyone from day one and to suggest otherwise is completely unfair.

Tevez out and Jovetic in was in Pellegrini's first summer, was it not?

I was also under the impression that Mancini wanted Rodwell, that he wasn't a club signing per se?

as others have said what did you do when we were actually shit ? you can't have been a city fan for very long.

'... than't all we got' - that sounds very entitled

As football fans, we are entitled to one thing. Effort. That is it. The rest is a bonus

Could/Should we have won more? Maybe, maybe not. There are some other very good teams competing for the same trophies

The Wigan cup final obviously stands out. Maybe we should have retained the league after each season we won it but that is very difficult and we were a 'good second' in each of those years. Last seasons' FA Cup and this year the League Cup have been thrown away, but there is not guarantee we would have won either

I'm a big believer that you get what you deserve in football(blatantly wrong refereeing decisions not withstanding). And we just haven't been good enough over the last few season to challenge for the league. There have been some bad buys and areas of the squad have been neglected but there are plenty of threads on those issues

I would suggest everybody goes to the games, enjoys themselves and then see what happens. We were here 10 years ago and we will be here in another 10. I think it is safe to say we will win/compete for more leagues and cups in the next 10 that we did in the previous 10years

Can't believe people still bang on about Van Persie. He was a shit signing for the rags, had 6 great months that won them the title, but then spent the rest of his time their being an old waste of money. He was pretty much their Negredo, except a shit load more expensive and without being able to sell him for a profit like we somehow managed.

It's a very valid point. But you have to wonder at board level how much value the title win offsets against the waste of wages after that. We'll never know. But I'd have gladly wasted it if it meant that c**t didnt go out with a title.

I'm also fairly certain we're the most successful English club in those 5 years. With total trophies, finals and winning games.

Again. Bellend.
Yes we were,mp took us back in the league last season in particular, pep needs younger players in key positions then we will challenge once more

I was presuming it was a David Bowie reference.

I don't think we'd have won the title with him anyway, we already had Tevez, Aguero, Dzeko and Balotelli, our problem clearly wasn't lack of quality strikers. The only positive probably would have been Mancini wouldn't have been moaning about not getting him all season. We massively underperformed that year, our problem wasn't he quality of the squad

thats never going to happen again, with the amount of money other clubs spend. how is winning a cup glossing over a bad year ?

We should of dominated though, we let an average United team win it back without a fight the year after. A team that has been on a massive decline ever since. I don't mean win every cup every year but at least be challenging not fighting for 4th two of them years. I agree other teams have improved (like we should after whats been spent) but each year its a 1/2 horse race and we aren't even in the running! Winning a cup is glossing over a bad season. Last year was toss and as much as I enjoyed the cup final it didn't make a full season of mediocrity acceptable.

Winning cups is glossing over a bad year?? fuck me what a load of self entitled bollocks, beginning to sound like Arsenal fans some people.

As for domination, do you all just expect everyone else to just roll over? this isn't like when the rags were winning everything, they could just go and outspend everyone else and stock the squad with top class players and have a world class bench whilst everyone else looked on in envy. Now everyone can match us in spending if they choose to do so.

No one will dominate the game again, want domination go support Bayern or Celtic.

This year has been a transitional year, next year you'll hopefully see the rewards, still doesn't mean we'll win anything though.

Self entitled? Get in the bin mate sick of this shit small time attitude many of our fans have. On your logic was last year a good season? No winning the cup was great but doesn't make it a success. We aren't little shitty city in division 2 anymore, we are an actual force with billions of investment. We won the league, in the best circumstances ever and we went backwards from then. The old cliché you cant stand still when you win it, we didn't stand still after both occasions when we won it we have regressed.

I am not saying other teams to roll over, but if we haven't won it we haven't even challenged. That's the poor bit for me. I am not saying a period of dominance like United but usually if they hadn't won it they would of been in title race come April/May. Other teams have invested (not to our level) but it's not like it's a 4 horse race, we just haven't been involved. You mention turning into Arsenal fans but the irony is your views couldn't be any more Arsenal. Happy with the top 4 with the odd cup thrown in.

This year I can live with, old shit we need to clear out and a great manager who needs time. That doesn't excuse us not preparing for this time better.
