Having a tough first away game, especially after a WC or Euros, is potentially a major disadvantage. We’ve had Arsenal, Wolves, Spurs and now West Ham

We've lost at West Ham once in 9 years, and they finished 7th in the table, how is that a tough game?

What you mean is we haven't had an easy game, that's not the same thing.

6th consecutive time we have been away 1st.
Last time we had a home game first was vs Sunderland in 2016.
It's almost as if they want to make life as awkward as possible for us.

Just seen Bournemouth's start:

Villa home
City away
Arsenal home
Liverpool away

Welcome to the Prem.........

Only by the people that are as stupid as our fans that believe it's rigged!
If some believe if it's rigged for us and some believe it's rigged against us, perhaps it isn't actually rigged at all!
Don’t believe it’s rigged. Liverpool getting a newly promoted team first game, for the 4th season running is some going. Extremely high odds for that to have happened.

No idea why people even think they’re random. It’s not a cup competition and there’s huge amounts of other ‘stuff’ to take into consideration, which dictates certain dates/fixtures and certainly disallows others. Also, I bet it’s a bloody nightmare to organise.
I think the compiler or whatever they are called needs a bonus for arranging them all. :-)

Spurs last season is the only time it's really impacted us though, and we always lose there anyway. Besides, the stronger the opposition the more likely they are to also be impacted by any summer tournaments surely?

Maybe. I guess at the very least it levels the playing field for the opposition. Still, with Haaland joining the ranks and no summer comp we should be flying high early on.

The thing is, at this stage nobody really knows what a tough or easy fixture is going to be. I'm sure Everton at home would have been picked out as a tricky one last year because its Everton and it fell straight after an international break and before a champions league game in midweek. As it was, by the time they came to us they were in the process of imploding under Benitez and we cruised to a 3-0. Conversely, Brentford as a newly promoted side would have fallen into the easy camp but they really weren't!
Exactly this. I don't expect people thought that Palace away 3 days after a carabao cup game and 4 days before a champions league game last season would prove to be a challenge........

There’s 5 teams in our position and three have had events on the pitch this season:

Us - concerts
Dippers - concert
Wolves - International’s
Forest - nothing
Brighton - nothing

West Ham had the Socceraid same time as the last Sheeran concert at the Etihad, presuming The London Stadium pitch will be relaid and they’re at home first game I’m not sure if the City request is just a myth, I know it happened at Maine Road to squeeze in a Jean-Michel Jarre concert and not disputing it could be the case but I think the 53 days available until the 5th August to lay and bed in a pitch is more than enough time.
West Ham also have Monster Jam on the 18th June, and 3 concerts on the 24th (Green Day), 25th & 26th (Chilli Peppers). There also hosting Wingfest (a chicken wing festival apparently) there on the 16th & 17th July and it looks like its on the pitch. No Athletics this year

I suppose it’s only natural given that we start and end away and have Boxing Day away. Meanwhile, our likely biggest rivals Liverpool, start and end away and have Boxing Day away. If that doesn’t prove it’s fixed, nothing will…..
For me it’s not the Boxing Day that irks, it’s the fact we don’t get either that or the Bank Holiday 2nd January at home, instead we get New Year’s Eve at home. Plus nearly every year out of the three holiday fixtures we get 2 away games and 1 at home, would be good to get the Rag’s luck of the draw.

We've been sent on some long old trips away. It’s no coincidence, also Chelsea on the 2nd Jan will probably get moved to Tuesday night when a lot of people have returned to work. If it stays 2nd there will be no trains.

Very happy with that list. Generally fixtures are good or bad depending on commitments in the cups which are always tough in the closing stages. Hopefully, we'll be there again, this year without injuries.

LMFAO,
Liverpool's first 5 away games are Fulham, United, Everton, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
If you look dep enough you could make a case for everybody's fixtures being rigged!

"One of the toughest games to open without being too obvious." WTF!
Well they don’t mostly pair the top 6 from the previous year so they go to the next toughest, a team who caused us problems. It’s just fine margins. Don’t you think they stitched us up last year with nearly all the toughest away games early in the season?

I’ll give you a WTF, why are you quoting the Dippers first 5 away games include Everton, Fulham and the Rags? Hardly any jeopardy there, ffs.

The New Year fixtures will get seriously messed around with before they’re cast in stone. A few of the games on the 31st will definitely get moved to New Year’s Day and the fixtures now scheduled for the 2nd will end up being spread over the bank holiday Monday and both the Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Liverpool fans raging because they have to play us away in the title race. Thats strange considering they are the best team ever, with the best manager ever.

Yep, i remember our game v Wolves scheduled at home for NYD being pushed to midweek night game when a lot of people had gone back to work that day, the atmosphere was dead and loads of empty seats.
