Flares and chairs thrown into our end

I’m seriously not apart of the easily offended brigade and I’m not provocative for the sake of it, I genuinely believe everything I say and post, I may later revise my view, as I have here but I do not fabricate what I think.

MCFC is private property and the club can eject and ban who they wish. It doesn’t have to be a criminal matter.

Making a reference to Munich by aeroplane signals or chants should result in a ban in my opinion, not only is it out of order to do it to a rival it includes Frank Swift.

I did say ban for life when I first read it but I’ve mellowed and think a temporary ban for that season is sufficient.

We don’t want these arseholes at our club.

We now live in an era where a lot of the stuff that went on at football grounds in the 70's and 80's isn't seen as acceptable today. On the positive side, if this was 30-odd years ago half the Kippax would be "Munich-ing", whereas these days it's literally the odd fan here and there. That's a huge improvement and shows football fans have moved on and are better behaved compared to back then. I too am far from the easily offended brigade, have behaved in such a way in the past that left a fair bit to be desired, and I'm forever lamenting the increasing sanitisation of the game but some things really do belong in the past IMO.

I think a Palace fan got banned last year for doing aeroplane signals at a game against United so there's a warning sign right there for anyone who does it, and I can see any City fans caught on camera doing it copping a ban. At the same time, United themselves might want to consider slapping a ban on those fans of theirs who bizarrely indulge in aeroplane gestures because it's clear they don't give any more of a fuck about Munich as those City fans who do it.

I watched for about ten mins after the match from 109 Row B, decent view for the handbags on the lower level.
I didn’t see any aeroplane gestures just both sets of fans giving it the biggun with arms out wide. Are people misconstruing this for Munich gestures? I didn’t hear any Munich reference either.
I did see the red smoke grenade get thrown into 111 and the police moved in and came out empty handed. Even though there were dozens of coppers either side of away section watching on.
Most of the game it was lads giving it the biggun and then full time, objects were exchanged. Bottles, pints, pocket change, lighters. If you had a particularly good shot you got a cheer from your respective fan base. Then I saw a half a blue chair thrown from the United side into the city side. It had gone up a level Haha! Then city threw it back. Just another derby day. And nothing too see here.

Look at my posts in the off topic, I’m no snowflake, I just find the behaviour of some City fans appalling.

Racism/hissing at Spurs fans, fighting, throwing stuff and less so Munich chants, should all come with a ban. The latter only temporary but still we need to stamp this behaviour out.

It’s fucking football for fuck sake.
For god sake if you think this sort of behaviour reflects well on club then i give up. It is utterly embarrassing.
Didnt say it reflects well. I said nobody would notice or even care were it not for the perpetually outraged twitterati. It reflects badly on the half wits involved not the club. It’s not City’s place to police fans’ thoughts.

Agree with every word.

I too did it when I was a teenager and in hindsight, I needed punishment for doing so as it was totally out of order and should have no place in Manchester football.

The club aren’t responsible for policing fans’ actions but they are fans’ behaviour and this falls into the latter.

The club are going to be punished for it, it’s in the media both City and Utd are likely to be fined for it.

It’s embarrassing and those doing it are immoral.

I used to when I was younger and I’m happy to admit I was a little scrote and deserved a ban.

Imagine smashing up and throwing seats at Old Trafford. Wait a minute.

Apparently City are going to examine CCTV footage.

So why wasn’t live CCTV used from the control room when United fans started throwing seats to pinpoint United fans smashing up and throwing seats? And then the Police told to go into the United end to pull those fans out? Why is CCTV only used and reviewed after an incident?

It seems the club and police policy is to no longer intervene directly while the incidents are taking place or after they have taken place. Rather to let all the incidents occur and then to try and find the culprits.

A live CCTV ‘control’ room, my arse!

It’s all about health and safety now. The police won’t go in because they know it will start a riot, and their officers will probably take a kicking.

I’m sure they will have recorded it with the intention of identifying culprits in the days and weeks following a match.

In Scotland following the pitch invasion when Hibs beat Rangers in the cup final a few years ago it was chaos, both sets of fans going toe to toe. The police did not much other than form a line and try to herd them apart. They were still putting out pictures in the media of those involved in it months after the event.

Hopefully the people who did stuff will get dealt with in due course....GMP better than the scouse equivalent?

So utd fans can sing about blues are gonna die, they can sing and have banners about Istanbul and bill shankly, they can attack the house of their chairman and not one picture on so I'll media or an individual? Fuck them, set of snowflakes
No, they shouldn’t be doing any of that.

But we shouldn’t lower ourselves to their level by doing similar.

“Well, they started it” is one the worst, most juvenile explanations for any action and has been used to attempt to excuse many horrible things in the past.

Why become the thing you so despise? What satisfaction does that bring? What purpose does it serve?

What’s worse at the club?

You can apply that line to anything “sir you’re accused of raping this girl” ... “well some people rape multiple people”.
For example fans on the metro pushing and shoving disabled people on the tram, shouting and swearing in front of old ladies on the train just a general poor behaviour involving or in front of actual living people as opposed to some who died 62 years ago.
Read the book 'The Lost Babes' about a club who did nowt to aid any victims for about 20 years and then manipulated their own fans into mourning every year once they found out how much money could be made from organised orchestrated grief. That to me is far worse than a few drunk dickheads playing aeroplanes.

How many people realise that 8 of the dead were players two or three were club officials and about a dozen were reporters and fans who hitched a ride on the plane. Nobody gives a toss about them except for City fans throwing in Frank Swift in a bit of whataboutery.

The whole bloody thing was shameful. Far worse than stupid bloody gestures.
