I’m seriously not apart of the easily offended brigade and I’m not provocative for the sake of it, I genuinely believe everything I say and post, I may later revise my view, as I have here but I do not fabricate what I think.
MCFC is private property and the club can eject and ban who they wish. It doesn’t have to be a criminal matter.
Making a reference to Munich by aeroplane signals or chants should result in a ban in my opinion, not only is it out of order to do it to a rival it includes Frank Swift.
I did say ban for life when I first read it but I’ve mellowed and think a temporary ban for that season is sufficient.
We don’t want these arseholes at our club.
Look at my posts in the off topic, I’m no snowflake, I just find the behaviour of some City fans appalling.
Racism/hissing at Spurs fans, fighting, throwing stuff and less so Munich chants, should all come with a ban. The latter only temporary but still we need to stamp this behaviour out.
It’s fucking football for fuck sake.
Didnt say it reflects well. I said nobody would notice or even care were it not for the perpetually outraged twitterati. It reflects badly on the half wits involved not the club. It’s not City’s place to police fans’ thoughts. For god sake if you think this sort of behaviour reflects well on club then i give up. It is utterly embarrassing.
We now live in an era where a lot of the stuff that went on at football grounds in the 70's and 80's isn't seen as acceptable today. On the positive side, if this was 30-odd years ago half the Kippax would be "Munich-ing", whereas these days it's literally the odd fan here and there. That's a huge improvement and shows football fans have moved on and are better behaved compared to back then. I too am far from the easily offended brigade, have behaved in such a way in the past that left a fair bit to be desired, and I'm forever lamenting the increasing sanitisation of the game but some things really do belong in the past IMO.
I think a Palace fan got banned last year for doing aeroplane signals at a game against United so there's a warning sign right there for anyone who does it, and I can see any City fans caught on camera doing it copping a ban. At the same time, United themselves might want to consider slapping a ban on those fans of theirs who bizarrely indulge in aeroplane gestures because it's clear they don't give any more of a fuck about Munich as those City fans that do it.
Didnt say it reflects well. I said nobody would notice or even care were it not for the perpetually outraged twitterati. It reflects badly on the half wits involved not the club. It’s not City’s place to police fans’ thoughts.
Imagine smashing up and throwing seats at Old Trafford. Wait a minute.
Apparently City are going to examine CCTV footage.
So why wasn’t live CCTV used from the control room when United fans started throwing seats to pinpoint United fans smashing up and throwing seats? And then the Police told to go into the United end to pull those fans out? Why is CCTV only used and reviewed after an incident?
It seems the club and police policy is to no longer intervene directly while the incidents are taking place or after they have taken place. Rather to let all the incidents occur and then to try and find the culprits.
A live CCTV ‘control’ room, my arse!
No, they shouldn’t be doing any of that.So utd fans can sing about blues are gonna die, they can sing and have banners about Istanbul and bill shankly, they can attack the house of their chairman and not one picture on so I'll media or an individual? Fuck them, set of snowflakes
For example fans on the metro pushing and shoving disabled people on the tram, shouting and swearing in front of old ladies on the train just a general poor behaviour involving or in front of actual living people as opposed to some who died 62 years ago. What’s worse at the club?
You can apply that line to anything “sir you’re accused of raping this girl” ... “well some people rape multiple people”.
