Flares and chairs thrown into our end

The whole thing is about respect and that is in short supply despite the amount of times the word is used. Clubs get tainted by the behaviour of fans far from the ground let alone getting on the metro although there is little that can be done away from the ground and even in it most tends to be reactive.

It’s in short supply everywhere mate and definitely within football grounds.

People wouldn’t call Utd fans Munichs in work or in the pub so why do it inside a ground?

you seriously think that Munich business only gets dished out at football grounds.....

No I’m sure it doesn’t but it’s a lot more prevalent at the football. If you say it in a pub you’ll likely get a whack, behind a line of stewards, with thousands of your fellow supporters, it’s much easier.

My point is the latter doesn’t mean you should.

The club aren’t responsible for policing fans’ actions but they are fans’ behaviour and this falls into the latter.

The club are going to be punished for it, it’s in the media both City and Utd are likely to be fined for it.

It’s embarrassing and those doing it are immoral.

I used to when I was younger and I’m happy to admit I was a little scrote and deserved a ban.
If City are to be punished for something as trivial as a couple of lads making aeroplane gestures we should tell the FA to fuck off we’ll see you in court.

“Immoral” is totally over the top. “Daft” is more appropriate. They’re young, they do daft things, give em a break you sanctimonious misery. Do they fuck deserve a ban and certainly not a 12month one as you suggested.

I bet you’re fun at parties

I watched for about ten mins after the match from 109 Row B, decent view for the handbags on the lower level.
I didn’t see any aeroplane gestures just both sets of fans giving it the biggun with arms out wide. Are people misconstruing this for Munich gestures? I didn’t hear any Munich reference either.
I did see the red smoke grenade get thrown into 111 and the police moved in and came out empty handed. Even though there were dozens of coppers either side of away section watching on.
Most of the game it was lads giving it the biggun and then full time, objects were exchanged. Bottles, pints, pocket change, lighters. If you had a particularly good shot you got a cheer from your respective fan base. Then I saw a half a blue chair thrown from the United side into the city side. It had gone up a level Haha! Then city threw it back. Just another derby day. And nothing too see here.

This, but I also definitely saw one moron City supporter doing the gesture. I do think some of their supporters couldn’t care less about the air disaster or the families that it impacted. To be honest, why should they care really? Most of the fans in the away end last night looked they wouldn’t have been born when it happened, it makes no difference to them.

The United fans filming City fans do the aeroplane gesture and putting it on social media aren’t thinking about the dead. They want City fans to do it so they can put it on social media to score points and say look at City’s scum support.

I’d even go as far to say, if you gave them the chance to go back it time to and stop the disaster happening it the first place a lot of them wouldn’t. They like to parade it around like a trophy, and get to bang on about how they have history. That is what they mean when they say history, a bunch of trophies and an air disaster.

Basically it seems the air disaster has become largely about scoring points . Some United fans love the fact it happened at their club and wouldn’t have it any other way. Sad but true.

now I know it is wrong now to do this, but if you went to the city v utd games in the 70s and 80s it was much worse, and us old uns will also know about a song we used to sing at those games which was even worse but I wont write it just us old uns know what it was. but after games there was always a riot with both fans but thankfully now most just do to watch the game and even walk together before and after the game
