Flooding - again !

I read your post from 2019, do you get budgeted for it now?

I was reading it thinking it was called the Fire and Rescue Service but when I looked that seemed to have been from a 2004 act outlining...

There are four key responsibilities for FRAs that they must ensure that they make provision for including:

  • extinguishing fires in their area
  • protecting life and property in the event of fires in their area
  • rescuing and protecting people in the event of a road traffic collision, and
  • rescuing and protecting people in the event of other emergencies.
Hopefully, you are.
Nope never got funding for it mate, like the police things are just piled onto them as other services are cut, like historically RTCs weren’t covered until 2004 it was just something we did.

Want to know something mad?

If a new housing development is built in what is classed as a flood zone, the developer ONLY has to build in the provisions for flood defences, NOT actually build the flood defences.

So for example, they need to leave area for a flood wall, but they aren’t bound to build it. And they often don’t.

Honestly mad

Wow. Scandalous. If that's the standard for fine scrutiny of the robustness of planning rules before they are rolled out it puts the recent exposure of the " leaky " PL rules , as exposed by various clubs, into context .

When building houses in flood plains why don't they build it so it above the possible flooding? Have all inlets with a one button cut off of pluming electric?
