Flooding in Stockport

Happening up and down the Country…only going to get worse with all the let’s build, build, build promises being made. Devastating for those affected.
There’s a new build estate ( well was) on Glossop road to marple facing Gamesley , 50-60 houses under development the whole lot have been demolished flattened as they were sinking!!
The chairman of glossop heritage knows his stuff and he warned them not to build as the land is ballast from the glossop rail line but they went ahead, and now 50-60 new builds what was near completion have been demolished!! Absolutely criminal these land developers and also the councils who let them build.
The building company is now dissolved.

Flooding has always happened, OK funding can and does help in some cases but it wont stop it. You can't just say "I blame the Tories" that's ridiculous mate.

Here are a few photos of sunny Stockport in monsoon season from yesteryear.

It is a long long time since any council in the North with perhaps the exception of Altrincham was in Tory control but for some who are obsessed, they are the root of all evil for what ever happens in the world

And who do you think funds the environment agency!
The budget under the Tories went up from £1.3 billion in 2015 to £2.0 billion in 2024. It will be interesting, going forward to see what effect the current Government’s ambitions to build so many new houses in the next 5 years will have on the flooding issues, if of course, it is all about politicians

And £2.4 billion now under labour.
