Florian Wirtz

THIS is definitely not helping and think the FA know it.
FA??? What’s it got to do with them! As for Wirtz - he’s in Germany & the champions want him so not a hard decision

I’m sure the 115 is putting nobody off - if they were worried, there would just be a clause in their contract - our owners are v rich you know :-)

Someone on Twitter put it perfectly: if we’d signed Wirtz now, Bayern would’ve just taken him from us in 2-3 years anyway. Honestly, I’m fine it didn’t happen — I’d rather avoid the endless circus every transfer window with Bayern tapping him up.

Can’t see that being the case, too many issues this season that would be repeated even with Rodri and Bobb returning.

MGW isn’t fixing those on his own and that also supposes that Bernardo and Kovacic both stay.

If Wirtz is off the table it gives us a fairly sizeable pot to spent and with headroom on wages.

Last summer no one expected Pep to stay and no doubt Txiki knew he was hanging up his jumper so it made sense to keep things more or less as they were. Obviously injuries ensured that strategy was a disaster.

This summer Viana starts his role, the last thing he wants is to be facing another midfield rebuild summer of 2026 especially with Pep yet again with one year remaining on his contract.
You know there’s genuinely no reason why we still can’t have a great window. Wirtz is gone so what.

Nah man, I’m just lying to myself at this point.

I wanted him so badly — I was obsessed for months. I watched every single YouTube comp, every highlight, every touch.

Feels like everything’s fallen apart.

What makes you think we will get Musiala? Is it the Release Clause?
If Wirtz decides to go to Bayern, forget about us getting Musiala, he won't be coming. Wirtz and Musiala are very close, they are friends, thus it means they want to play together for Bayern and Germany for a very, very long time!

Remember like a week ago when the random idiots on twitter said they have sources that confirmed wirtz to city. And people here were eating up the literal made up news for engagement. That was fun
Going head-to-head with Bayern Munich for a top-tier German superstar is borderline madness—history shows that Bayern almost always comes out on top. These German wunderkinds grow up dreaming of playing for Bayern, just as young talents in Spain often idolize Barcelona or Real Madrid. That’s the reality of the footballing landscape. In this case, we are not only going up against Bayern, it is also against his parents that are German through and through, we are going up against his DNA, which is absurd the more I think about it. The probability of winning is so slim, it almost looks impossible.

Now, with that acknowledged, maybe I’m still clinging to hope—or maybe I'm in denial—but I truly believe Florian Wirtz hasn’t made a final decision to join Bayern. Despite the reputable reports coming out of Germany, a part(a delusional part) of me still believes there’s a chance he could choose us. Until a trusted Manchester City source confirms Bayern's win, and until I read that definitive “Here we go,” I’m not giving up. I'm still standing by my bed, eyes wide open, seeing Wirtz in Sky Blue.

So yeah, I am one of those that are still "eating up the literal made up news for engagement". I really hope the City mouth piece comes out sooner, so I can come out of this delusion.

It's such a depressing league. Bayern win almost every time. Occasionally a challenger emerges, and then Bayern just buy their best players and no-one in Germany seems to give a shit. Imagine if our response to Liverpool challenging was to just buy Salah and Van Dijk, their club just let it happen, and there was no stigma whatsoever about them going. And they try to act like the Bundesliga is some sort of model for how football should be done.

Most English clubs would take less money to sell abroad than strengthen one of their rivals. Look at us trying to buy Harry Kane ffs.
