Il look at this whole scenario this way, florian wirtz who would have cost us a whole 300 million package AND being given the responsibility to replace kdb's contribution like-to-like, would have been under too much pressure for him from the start. At liverpool, he is not replacing anyone, they will ease him into the team slow and steady as they already have a winning team to make his transition much easier. There is significantly lesser pressure at liverpool as they can cope without him, but with us, he will be looked to perform from minute 1.

MGW will NOT be looked at a direct kdb replacement and his transition to the first team will be much easier and will come with the lowest of the low expectations, since everyone here is already deeming he is not good enough.

In conclusion, just like how we didn't replace david silva, yaya toure and el capitan with direct replacements, let's believe pep will look to improve the squad without a kdb replacement.

Why does someone have had to do a poor job for him to choose something else?

All ifs and buts.

What about if Wirtz turns out to be Marko Marin when he joined Chelsea and is running off back to Bundesliga next year on loan because hes flopped.
 
If you cant get a world class player or a marquee player in Wirtz fine. But use that money to upgrade the whole squad.

Can’t get a ten , go get two very good eights to bring energy and numbers in midfield

Full back defensively has been terrible this season go get two very good full backs. That will help massively with defence next season

Half the centre backs can’t be trusted with injury issues go get one decent centre back. In case Dias or Gvardiol get injured.

Wingers can’t score? Keep the young players sell Grealish and go get a left wing that can provide numbers.

Frimpong is overrated not sure if he will do better tan Kola. Wirtz will have to do a. Lot to prove he is better than Yaya and Silva. Agree regaring boateng great for Bayern not for us. People are treating Kerkez and Frimpong like superstars

Plus who we get this summer.

We have the best manager in the world to boot.

If they get wirtz then the pressure is all on slot to provide

This has probably mentioned that the only reason Liverpool are in for him is down to Bayer Leverkusen determined in not selling to their direct rivals.
 
Txiki and Viana best to work overtime, their rivals seems to be in a hurry.

there seems to be intent at big clubs to do business early or very early.
Real already completed Huijsen and TAA.
Bayern sorted Tah and were heavily involved for Wirtz.
even fucking rags doing groundwork for Delap, Cunha.
Arsenal done Zubimendi and their new DoF already looking at Sesko or Gyokeres and Rodrygo.
Liverpool already very much sorted Frimpong annd big news on Wirtz.

for whatever reason there is a feeling business is about to be done very early on, even before most top leagues actually finished. usually there isnt so much hurry given window is open til end of August and has not opened yet.
likes of Chelsea, Newcastle, PSG I expect waiting for the outcome of their high stakes games left and will join in the early recruitment.

also PL window change was voted so there is an extra early slot to register new players between Sunday June 1st until Tuesday June 10th.
doesnt make much difference really to anyone apart from us and Chelsea if there is any deal ready to be registered and join us for CWC.
wonder if Txiki and Viana has anyone ready by that time to register.
I assume CWC squad once submitted not able to change it even if we sign a big player just after the first group stage game.

I was just comparing those players to Kerkez, Wirtz and Frimpong. Not if we were champions or not.

Sane, Stones and Gundo was also a better window than the OP suggested potential red scouse super window.
