I wonder if the recruitment of players from the Bundesliga is linked to a managerial choice from the Bundesliga. I guess that time will tell.

Sure, but I was responding to the idea that it's "delusional" that he's coming. Even if we aren't his first choice (and nobody knows what his first choice is), the very fact that we're speaking to him means he's interested and it's a realistic possibility.
Part of the job of the transfer team is to make US players first choice even when they're unsure. And we've consistently done this for over a decade now. I'm sure De Bruyne would have preferred Bayern too back in 2014 but our team managed to convince him to believe in the project and it paid off. The fact he's talking means he's open to it.
 
If they want 150m give them that. He is probably the best young player in the world in his position and exactly what we need. Better than the current Phil Foden, miles better.

We need to sign him at any cost we need to sign world class players .unfortunately we are now playing catching up game due to complacency in the last two years

I was one of those posters. Partly coz o don't think we'll go after him. Bit at this point, i want him.

If he benches Phil, then so be it.

Anyone who’s any good can “see the data” when watching a player.
 
I think Foden has a better shot and is faster, but other than that, i think Wirtz is a better passer, has better vision, links up better, has a better cross, and has a better all round game.
