Florian Wirtz

Saying tonight in Kicker, Wirtz has been impressed by the efforts Guardiola has been putting in to sign him.

Saying Bayern not top of his list.

Also mentioned Real Madrid, but because of Alonso.

I find the idea that we are also-rans for serious signings quite ridiculous.
We are pretty much the success story of the decade - sport and business.
To be coached by a genius is an attractive option.
The Premier League is an attractive option.
The money is an attractive option.
Players like Haaland, Rodri, Foden and Gvardiol help attract top players to the club.
Bayern...I shit 'em.

If Wirtz is looking at champions league and ballon d or options, then city can conclusively show he can achieve both here. The Premier League is more prestigious, and Pep has a proven track record of improving players regardless of their level and making them more complete players

He should look too at the players who came before him, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Aguero, Kompany. All loved it here and still talk affectionately about city to this day, praising also the club and the way they and their families were looked after inside and outside of football.

The pressure on him at Madrid or Bayern would be much greater too, and he's only leaving there when the club says it's ok, whereas at City we'd facilitate a move away if he genuinely wanted to go, even if we didn't want him to go.

If Pep thinks this lad is the one to fill De Bruyne's boots, then that is a huge compliment and hopefully a signal of intent to Wirtz on what we think he can be with Manchester City.

Plus, who wouldn't want to be assisting Haaland for the next nine years! That's probably the most surefire way to get trophies and personal recognition.

Leverkusen if they sell will want him to come to us imo as we have players within their age, profile and price bracket like Mcatee?

Don't come for my head please but am I the only one who feels like this guy isn't all that he's made to be? I have seen the highlights and I am not impressed. An in-form Phil or maybe even Bobb (he's shown signs), can easily do the job. Now, if it was an actual game changer like Musiala, then I would say go all in but this guy? Not really crazy about this one to be honest.

Wirtz is Good but yeah there‘s
Only 1 Musiala sadly.
Also I think in terms of creation input Wirtz isn’t even close to Cherki. No one is to be real. But Wirtz is an effective player and Lev play far better with him than without him

they want to sell him to anyone but bayern. a lot of bad blood in the media again between both clubs.
We need to get to a point where wirtz is thinking about it
Then put big money down (£120m )and play poker
Make it so Bayern and Real Madrid have to match us to even have a chance this summer
If they do and he picks them, move on.

Vini maybe to Saudi, Rodrygo out, Modric out, Caverminga out.

There will be big changes at Madrid, they are way off previous levels.
There’s no way Madrid—willingly or otherwise—let go of so many high-profile names. They’re too proud, too ambitious. Being the Galácticos isn’t just a phase for them—it’s their identity, their brand. And you know that as well as anyone.

Modrić is the obvious one to phase out due to age—that much seems inevitable. When it comes to the core of their starting eleven, Rodrygo, Vinícius, and Camavinga are key names. I just can’t see three of that core leaving at the same time. It’s not how Madrid operates, they do not operate on sense, but GREED.

I don’t see both Rodrygo and Vini leaving—it won’t be both. If anyone is sacrificed, it’s more likely to be Rodrygo, unless Vini suddenly decides to chase the Saudi money and asks to leave. But let’s be honest—Vini is obsessed with Madrid. Despite all the abuse he’s endured, he bleeds white. He'd rather stand his ground and stay a Madridista. These players know what it means to wear that shirt. Playing for Madrid means competing alongside other stars, being part of the Galáctico legacy they grew up watching.

As for Tchouaméni—who’s more of a defensive anchor—and Camavinga, who thrives box-to-box, it’s possible one might be sold. But even then, both have shown they’re willing to rotate and wait their turn. If they do decide to move Camavinga on, that opens the door for Jude to take the No. 8 role—his natural position—and allows someone like Wirtz to slot into the 10, if Madrid want him, and if Wirtz wants Madrid. It’s a potential reshuffle that keeps the midfield dynamic without compromising quality.

Out of those four, the only truly expendable player—realistically—is Rodrygo.

Madrid are too Greedy to make those changes, instead they will still want to replace a star player with another star player.

Or maybe I’m just completely waffling—they’ve probably learned their lesson and they will finally make the right changes to optimise the squad and maximise on-pitch returns.
