Please can some of the elderly on here clear this up for me, why do old folk always go out dressed like they're about to attempt a winter ascent of K2 when it's 80% humidity and 26 degrees outside?

Just been to get a coffee and literally every old biddy I've seen has been wrapped up in a massive coat, how they don't all pass out I'll never know!

Some feel the cold more than others. Which probably sounds daft to you youngsters and until this year sounded a bit daft to me but I bet not one of you has had your heating on since maybe the end of June or mid July?
I had mine on on Saturday afternoon for a couple of hours.
Yesterday I sat out in my daughter's back garden and was quite warm but they were all really hot.
However I do not wear my big coat during the summer. I do wear a tailored jacket or a hoody. (Not a black one and not a sweatshirt material. Knitted ones.) :-)
Apparently it is something to do with the blood thinning as you get older.

Hope this helps @Johnny Mars Bar?

Just to counteract the above, today I am wearing my short sleeved City top with Kompany written on the back and cotton trousers (you know summer ones!!) ;-) :-)

I do not remember receiving an invite for coffee?? I would have asked for tea but it would have been good to be invited! *cheeky grin*

Just to show I know that your question was out of concern for our elderly fun loving members. ........ FOC funny old codgers!!! :-)

Probably same reason you spend 50 years getting up at the crack of dawn, grafting. Dreaming of the day you can retire and finally knock it all on the head.

Then spend the rest of your life going shopping at 7 am and queuing up waiting for the post office to open every morning.
