Wasn’t really hindsight as i thought it watching the game. He trusted the players in the pitch as most of them in the bench have been offering very little when called upon. Hence needing Doku to bail us out the week before at Wembley

Like I said I hope I’m wrong.. good first half season in two seasons is not good enough imo. Love the lad but I think he needs a new challenge.. I think he is too comfortable at city and won everything so idk if it’s motivation or what but he isn’t as good as he used to be
 
Must say as much has I wanted Phil to have a new Contract.l agree with another poster the it’s Business first and sentiment doesn’t come into it .
Taking that into account I’m surprised he got a good contract.

So the business men at the club must think Phil is a good deal for the Club,

He's burnt out. Good rest is all he needs.
 
lets hope he shows something still this season. 5 games left, he has to make sure in training for Pep to make him start at least one of those 5 games. or at least show some real difference when subbed in.
 
So happy he's signed up. Hope it can give him a boost and he can get help.

If he does get his head straight again (and hopefully rest this summer without a world cup!) then ..works on strength getting tips from Bernie beforee he's off... he could be an asset again.. fingers crossed. We need a core of local lads tbf to be a proper club
 
Pep predicted this with Phil and said his form will dip at some point

Saw it in YouTube and if I was arsed I would find it and post here

He also said he will return and be much better

Pep knows more than all of us put together on this site so I trust him and the club

Ive never known another professional footballer to be labeled as 'burnt out' and be effectively given a full season off

Why cant we just call a spade a spade, and say hes been poor for two seasons in comparison to where he should be, and hope that some how he manages to turn things round by working hard

There's not going to be a flick of a switch moment, its going to take a lot of hard work both mentally and physically for him to reach the levels that everyone expects of him; those levels aren't a decent first half of a season, which i think is being generous
