surely they have contractors working there. working in the stands during the week fixing electronics/plumbing etc, that must be the best way to get a gang of blues in to spirit away said banner.

Yes there are. One of my mates, a lifelong blue, has an 'Access All Areas'-type pass but, as it's his main contract, he's not going to risk it by setting fire to OT [and life for arson, obviously]!
As others have said, when we win a trophy, we should make them 'graciously' hand it over outside COMS with full media attention. I just hope it's before Fergie retires so that he will have to offer his begrudging congratulations.
