Food that can do one

As someone once said, an acquired taste not worth acquiring. It's telling that the only way to stomach a particular foodstuff is by disguising the taste and texture with a rich sauce. I still feel distinctly queasy when I think back to the one and only occasion my mother served up tripe to us kids for tea.
Tha texture is something to behold.
Pork tripe - quite white, smooth and bland.
But beef tripe - very frilly and fun to eat!
An oral experience...

Once upon a time I wouldn't entertain the idea of 'cheesecake'! What! Cheese in a cake? WTF. And then a friend offered some, didn't say what it was, and I followed up with 'That's delicious!. But I won't make the same mistake with curry. Cheesecake didn't give the game away by smelling like a latrine.
Spoiler Alert!
Unless you were served the American version (which contains cream cheese), cheesecake widely available in the UK doesn't actually contain cheese. Otherwise, I'm assuming that the only latrines you've ever smelt are those recently used by someone who's consumed a vindaloo!

Most English cheesecakes contain cream cheese, yes it’s possible to make without but not the norm

I'll grant you it's debatable Idaho but I maintain that the majority of unbaked cheesecakes on sale in the UK are free of cheese. Do I sound like I'm clutching at straws?
