Food that can do one

Tripe!!!!
As a kid my "Old Man" would tuck in to the stuff!! Used to stink ! Never tried it then .But a few weeks ago in a Bulgarian restaurant I got brave and tried tripe soup, apparently it's a popular dish over there! For 60 years I've avoided the stuff, wtf was I thinking it would taste good? God awful!! That's the most polite I can say about it.Never again

Cockney pie and mash. My goodness did that ming.

The liquor is ok - though only because the dish is rescued by the strength of the mash and Pie.
Gravy elevates it to heavenly status.

Jellied eels can get to f*ck - there’s a Ukrainian dish called holodietz (translated, ‘cold’) - fish or meat in jelly, like a terrine - which most Brits look at and think is cat food - which, as the meat isn’t viniagared to all hell is still preferable to the eels…

Liver & Kidneys made to eat them as a kid.
Kidney, great, esp with steak in a pie or pudding, but liver? Oh no, awful to eat, 100% with you on that. Used to hate liver & bacon & leftovers on a Monday teatime. Think I’d rather have just had another bowl of cornflakes for tea instead!

I was brought up on thick seam and elder - served cold with salad was my nightmare Sunday tea. An aunt ran the UCP cafe in Mersey Square - some terrifying things sold in there like trotters and pigs heads - Savoury Ducks weren't too bad though.
