Football Leaks/Der Spiegel articles

Yes but the KDB price was always in Euros think at the time €75 mill eureo would have cost us about £58 mill and the VVD would be converted to euros at the current exchange rate so there probably is only €3mill euro difference.

The euro at the time would have made £75m something like €87m.

We paid about 75 mill euros, you’re looking the wrong way round. To a German KDB cost €75 mill. Van Dykes £75 mill converts to about €78 mill so about €3 mill difference in price fro a German perspective. From a UK perspective at the time KDB was about £58 mill so nearly £20 difference. But the German paper wasn’t wrong.

£75m doesn’t convert to to €78m. There not doing it at the airport currency exchange. £75m is €87m. At the very lowest it was €83m.

£75m is 87 million euros. Not 78m.

Well I dont know the exact fees paid and the exchange rates at the times, and I’m not really too bothered as the €3 mill difference isn’t really a big deal compared to the other stories. But depending on all the variables it may or may not be that far off.

You’re right first time with 87m. That’s the spot rate and you get spot rate on transfers that high.

Would make sense. But VVD was £75m, seems like they’re quoting one in pound and one in euro. There’s a £20m difference.

Yes, that might happen too (it's happened in several places).

Having checked a hunch, I think what they've done is used the figures on transfermarkt (I've commented on this before) where the figures for the transfer are 75 and 78 M euros - that will be dynamic for exchange rate, with the euro as the constant one.

Edit: Sorry, 76 and 78.8, but still 3M difference near enough.

Sunday Supplement matters, the Mail rep said City are hoping it goes away with their refusal to reply whereas he praised Der Spiegel for their public interest reporting.

Video Discussion of the sunday supplement..in the tweeted link.

Same as what you have written.

It's not ladyman though , it's Sam Wallace of the telegraph

This is attack on our club, I know we are no angels but if people think that no dirt is in Utd or Liverpool books thats very naive.
Biggest thing for my is the deal with Puma, there is no change for a intetnational super brand to sign 10 year huge deal with a football club with no connections with if they think that we are cheats and so on.
