Football Manager 2011

I really don't like giving the players extra days off to rest. reason being twofold - firstly you have to give all players the time off, and second the training schedules I use have rest days built in. I thought the game rescheduled rest days according on when your matches fall, maybe not.

I have excellent training facilities at Crewe, so every day my players are not there is a day's progress lost. I think it's a combination of closing down opponents for 90 mins and just having loads of games - 3 cup competitions plus 46 league games, probably going to end up playing around 60 games this season.

Oh, beat Wolves too in the league cup QF! Had a player sent off but beat them 2-1 in injury time. Scored on the break but then they took over, and took some heroic (and strong) tackling to stop them running away with it. Then I sneak it in the 177th min via a corner. Cue time wasting hat woudl put even Bolton to shame! United again in the semi, got knocked out by them at this stage last year and expect the same again. Still, two semi finals in two years as Crewe is not bad. The prize money is even better news.

Spotted 2 players who I think will boost us in the Championship, a young Croatian DM who has just agreed terms, and goalie Scott Loach (if Watford fail to get promoted from our league I'll make a move) and got a load of interest in some of my so-so players whom I can hopefully now move on in the January window. Chelsea want my young French left winger though now, better get your cheque book out Roman as he's not going cheap. He's not even a regular for me yet but he's going to be a great player. £2.5M or he stays, at least until he starts moaning about wanting to talk to other clubs.

Can't wait for Football Manager 2012, just saying.

I can, FM changes so slowly that the change is marginal and not always for the best. This genre really could use some more competition. I've enjoyed FM08 the most. Football manager live could have been better but they brought it to wrong direction, and it was still plagued by the poor tactics.

I would like a football sim with more complex and better match engine/tactics and more decision making when it comes to finances/training/scouting. (lets face it, sliders could not do anything and we wouldnt be any wiser). I imagine a football sim with a flavor of Paradox's games, that would be great. (easily recognizeable effects, percents of success etc.) But I quess this is topic is for another day. Hopefully I can play something better in my life time :(

Got this corker of a headline after Yoounited finished a measly 8th...

Mike Phelan becomes their manager in every save game i play. Pretty early as well.

Same, but Quique Flores became there manager after he got sacked in this save..

Just strange to see him get 'sacked' as he usually retires. Piss funny, even in virtual circumstances ;)
