Football Manager 2011

Swear the missus is psychic. Seems to know when I load up the game nowadays and starts the moaning.

Anyway. still with Crewe, still second season. Now top of the league just coming up to December, and got Wolves in the league cup but at home so half a chance. After last year's exploits I kind of expect to give them a good game, beat Sven's Leicester to get here too. Only top thanks to Sheff Weds, Crystal Palace and Watford spectacularly underachieving. Seriously they have squads that make the rest of us look pants, but struggle to beat anyone. Sheff Wed can blame Roy Keane for their predicaments, he's a t*at.

Fitness is a big issue though - anyone got any tips? I'm having to rotate players at they are often 85% or below, I think mainly due to the number of games I am having to play, but very frustrating that my lads can't play Saturday then Wednesday for a few weeks on the run. Might just be some of the players have poor stamina I guess. I have 4 and 4.5 star coaches for aerobic and strength, seems to be more of an issue with midfielder. Could be because I like them to press for 90 mins.

If I get promoted this season I have a bit of an issue. No way I have the players or money to compete with the Championship sides - Villa are in there with all their stars, Forest, Leicester... Not going to be able to attract a good enough class of player to the club in time to compete, I feel. Probably have 3/4 players in my squad good enough to make the step up, but that's not enough. I also only have 9 home growns and not 10, and have to sit some kid on the bench most matches just to meet League One rules. Mass clear-out at the end of the season for definite.

If I do get promoted, I might try to get the fabulous Jo. Transfer listed at City for £1.2M - wonder if he'd make the drop a division and accept an 80% wage cut to be part of a footballing revolution? Probably not. City have meanwhile hover around 8th despite not conceding for a record 7 matches, sent De Jong and Micah out on loan, and are playing Tevez left wing. They are crying out for a left back and a centre back - Hummels or Subotic would be perfect - but Mourinho seems to be more interested in buying tough tackling midfielders. Crazy, especially when the answer in De Jong has been sent out on loan.

do you rest your players after a match? i usually rest them for 1-2 days after a game.......

85-100% fitness-no rest
84-78% fitness-1 day
under 78%-2 days

i know its micro managing but it has to be done. also take note of there fitness in match try not to run them into the ground. i look at around 60 minutes into a game and if i see a player below 70% i look to bring a sub on.

hope some of this helps.

I just rotate players, not a big deal. You need a bit more quality to do that effectively though but if you have few players that can play several positions it helps

Into my 4th season with Accrington, in the Championship now with back-to-back Johnston Paint Trophy's :D
Really young team, most from 18-24 so bought a few experienced players for the Championship, Pascal Chimbonda at right back.
Have this young lad Micah Evans, bought him at 17, has scored 54 goals in League 1 in two seasons, hopefully he can rise to the challenge of the Championship.
