Football Manager 2012 - Official Thread - Demo Out Now

Shift and tab to get the SteamCommunity to come up...

Apparently I've played it

49 hours - past 2 weeks
471 hours - total

Hmmm, to be fair though I do Alt Tab to come on here, or play it while watching tv or leave it on while I do other stuff... honest i'm not sat on it all day.

I decided to do the pentagon challenge but have no idea how to take screen prints of FM or put them on here so excuse the lack of pictures.

Anyway started unemployed and got offered a job in the Hyundai A-League (Australia) for the club Gold Coast United. Lovely first job and get to enjoy this in my off time.

Anyway started off and thought I'd make a big signing to galvanize the team and fans and managed to pull off the signing of Icelandic International Heidar Helguson from QPR for £475K. Slotted him in up front and have some exciting young talent in the squad around him. He smashed 7 goals in the friendlies and looked like he was going to take the league by storm but then goes and does his knee ligaments in a bloody international friendly. Needless to say I wasn't impressed.

So far not doing badly and am currently 5th in the league table after 4 games which isn't bad considering I'm without my star man and have some wank strikers in his place. He is 5 weeks away from fitness so my plan is to hopefully pick up points with what I have and tread water until I can unleash him on the league.

I've got a Droylsden team, I've just been promoted to League 2. A problem I'm having is a lot of the people I'm trying to sign I can't because they want too much money, yet I see they've then joined other clubs for lower wages than what they were asking from me, and in some cases, clubs in lower divisions as well (e.g. One person wanted £500 p/w from me but joined a BSP club for £350).

Anyone know why this might be?

Also, what's Denis Suarez like on everybody else's game? He doesn't seem to be turning out much better than average on mine, just wondering if this has happened for anybody else.

my longest running save was with droylsden, took me 11 seasons but i got them into the premier league and made them into fa cup winners. got more of a challenge in the later seasons as the regens outnumbered the real players so really had to rely on my scouting team. managed to get the youth and training facility's upgraded and the club eventually built a new stadium for me which helped out with finances big style. one signing i can recommend for the lower leagues is pablo counago who used to be at ipswich, he dont half bang them in at lower level!!

Nearly signed him when I was in the BSN, although chose the slightly cheaper option of Michael Ricketts who was great in the BSN, but wasn't so great in the BSP and then he decided to retire. Might see whats happened to Counago and try and get him again.

I've had back-to-back promotions so far, but I don't know how long it's gonna take me to get out of L2, since the size of the club and wage budget is well behind most of the other clubs in the league.

Decided for the time being not to bother with a youth or reserve team.
Not only because of the costs but the youth facilities are so minimal there would just be no point.

Random J, i took the same job and it nearly ended in tears, the Aussie league rules are weird. Great for young cheap shit Aussie players but crap for expensive foreign signings! 1st season finished 8th after winning the last 6 games. Into 2nd season and made no signings for first team and I'm un beaten in 14, won last 9 and conceded none!

Vulin, brown, Traore and thwaite are awesome!

Sad news today,

"Everton's unbeaten run of 20 games has come to an end after being beaten 3-2 by a Song-Yung Ki inspired Liverpool."

In the last two seasons we've had plenty of cash to play with. Boyata is a beast. Sebastien Coates is a lazy twat with all the ability in the world, but I cannot figure out how to motivate him.

sick of getting injuries after i have made my 3rd substitution in games, happens far to often to be normal. to many times i'm left with 10 men to face the last 10/15 minutes of a game, anybody else get this?

I only do 2 subs before 85th min to avoid this.

Lots of injuries might be down to your training schedule.

Please can someone help me,
Basically I've tried to start a new game and everything runs normally until it reaches the part where the manager transfer targets are loaded and then the game crashes and a message saying: Football Manager 2012 has stopped working. Comes up
Has anyone else had this? If so how do I solve it?
Cheers in advance
