Football Manager 2012 - Official Thread - Demo Out Now

Please can someone help me,
Basically I've tried to start a new game and everything runs normally until it reaches the part where the manager transfer targets are loaded and then the game crashes and a message saying: Football Manager 2012 has stopped working. Comes up
Has anyone else had this? If so how do I solve it?
Cheers in advance

What spec is your PC? Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game (your saves will be fine). Check task manager to see if anything is hogging memory.

I;ve just started a new gamne with Sampdoria, in Mancini's honour. Some huge wages being spent there on loan players - Pasquale Foggia at £25k a week. Got rid of 4/5 of them, sold Massimo Maccarone (remember him!) and our star striker Pozzi. That saved about £150k a week on wages. The Italian rules on non EU players and homegrowns make it interesting.

Have signed Malonga and a young Swedish player up front, trying to keep hold of Palombo and Volta as they're my star players, along with the goalie who is pretty decent. Poli is already out on loan and that's frustrating as he's fantastic, but managed to get Gaston Ramirez on loan and he's a beast.

Pre-season started badly, a draw with Gijon and a loss at Stoke, but got much better and have just come back from 2-0 down at Catania at HT, to win 3-2. The problem seems to be that, even if I have a good target man, we can't play with a target man. Same player, as soon as I switch him to deep lying forward or advanced forward, we start playing better.

Task now is to keep offloading higher wage players and sign up some younger ones on much lower wages.

Glad for you, go and enjoy some FM 2012 :)

floridablues - PC version should also install fine on MAC: http://www.footballmanager.com/games?game_version=pc

Turned down an offer to manage France. They expected World Cup qualification. What am I, a miracle worker?

Actually, I just wanted another crack at the CL. 4 seasons at Everton-won everything there is to win. Unfortunately, last season won the FA Cup and the CL, but had to settle for 2nd in the league. Now Im setting up the team with a influx of young players, clearing out the old (apparently, Milner will still be quality into his late 30s), holding down a top 4 place, and looking to move on. Italy or Germany, possibly Spain..... Might just retire...

managing England, and guess what...they bottled it again.

Beat Spain in the warm-up to Euro 2012, had Holland, Portugal, Denmark in group. Beat Holland 2-1, drew 2-2 with Portugal after being 2-0 up Postiga equalising in the last minute, beat Denmark 3-2 but were pegged back twice only for a late OG to give us win, comfortably 2nd in the group behind Portugal on GD.

Got Italy in the quarters, went 2-0 up, pegged back to 2-2, went 3-2 ahead in ET, back to 3-3, then had 3 chances to win on pens, missed them all and then Lennon missed the decisive kick and we're out.

With Dortmund and England at the moment, Dortmund just took me on as they only finished 10th in the league last season, quickly brought in Adler, Guardado and Montoya on frees, will look to do some wheeling and dealing and aim for a CL spot next season, might stick with England but they're fucking useless, such promise in games but can't defend for toffee.

You can manage a national side and a club at the same time? Damn, I didn't realize......

-- Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:27 am --

I'd try one of the challenges first. Maybe wait til mid season to take a job offer?
I played a couple dozen matches before I even started messing with the training and scouting stuff. You can assign tasks to assistants as well.

I had a typical England experience at euro 2020. Drew with Russia 2-2 after having the lead twice they pulled it back in injury time. Lost 2-1 to Ukraine then beat Poland 1-0. Managed to get through in 3rd place as one of the 4 3rd place qualifys things.

France in the next round, control the game go 1-0 up through Wilshere. Unlucky to concede 1-1 in the second half goes to ET. 118th minute some dozy fucker gives away a penalty to lose 2-1 AET. Gutted. Kept the job though, now rebuilding at city after Clichy, Yaya, Dzeko retired and Milner went on a free
