Got this last week and started with a random team in the League 2. Ended up with Morecambe. Started well and got to Christmas in 4th but then suddenly and for no obvious reason started losing matches. This used to happen to me on previous versions where despite not changing anything drastically I'll suddenly lose about 7 matches on the run and drop down the table.
No idea why this happens but its bloody frustrating!

On the older FM's I remember people saying the game would crack your formation and you would have to change it, subtle changes wouldn't do it. Not sure if you could reintroduce the tactic at a later date.

Not sure if true although I've experienced a similar thing in the past. Not got the time to play these games anymore, too involved these days.

Well, stuck to my plan and didn't buy this on release, waited for the price to drop and then got it.

Just installed and played about with City for a short time. Number of options is overwhelming, change of layout is confusing. Training has been revamped and I don't like it. But not actually played a match yet so will give it a bit longer.

Usually use City as a benchmark when I first get the game, and keep it up if I am enjoying it, otherwise I usually start as an underachiever somewhere.

For City I'm thinking of getting in a new goalie, Pants is not up to backup, a new CB (Varane or Sahko ideally) and a new wide player (Reus but he's £30.5m, otherwise Lamela). Then grab a few youngsters (19 and under) and take a chance on them, Tony Vilhena was good on FM 12 as way Labyad, so will scout them and decide whether it is worth a punt. Kolo and Sinclair will also go. Tempted by Jovetic as Fiorentina say I can have him for £16m but we don't really need another striker. I do also want to shift Kolarov and get someone else in but can't find a right replacement so may just leave alone for now and see what develops.

Still, feels a bit weird this version. Maybe the lite version will suit my restricted time better.

Might try again when the january update comes out but im currently sticking to 2012 (season 2026/27!)

Same as me (although not quite as far as you, currently in 19/20 season). For me 2012 is the best version so far, much better than 13.

4-3-3 formation, won everything going every year. Currently blooding in a load of youngsters with the aim of having a fully home-grown first XI within the next 2 years. So far around 10 of my squad are homegrown at the club.

Anyone know how to get the board to expand the stadium or build a new one? COMS was extended to 60,000 a couple of years ago, always selling out (98% previous season in all competitions!) and am trying to boost revenue, as I'm not breaking even yet. Had loads of new sponsorships and pretty much halved the wage bill, but still losing money every month!

Basically same situation but I've got the 13 version. Annoying because im in 2020, winning everything single trophy possible, very good English youngsters who are established first team players, and I'm still losing 10 mill every month. Desperately need an stadium expansion, united have got 100000 at old Trafford! That 10 loss will be reduced at the end of my current season because yaya who is on 375k+ bonuses is retiring, and several other older higher earners are leaving. Got such a good young squad though, got a German center mid who is 17 and he is top of the prem average ratings with 8.12! Thing what youve got to look at with wages is bonuses, thats where I'm losing my money.

Total cost of the regens I've bought is 35 million, bought them from when then they where 15-17 and they have all turned out brilliant. Best thing to do is don't loan them out, stick them in your first team straight away. Best formation I've ever played with too, 4-3-1-2.

Guess I've got a few more seasons to wait then! Bit silly, because they're allowing me to upgrade both youth and training facilities, but the option to increse the size of the stadium has been greyed out for the past couple of seasons (basically since it was upgraded to a 60,000 seater)
