So just because United, Chelsea and Liverpool have lost a few more games than us that makes our current form not a worry???

Wake up FFS some people are so deluded and willing to settle for mediocrity. If we want top 4 and our competition for those places are dropping points we should be pushing further ahead to give us a better chance in the long run. Why settle for wehere we are in the league now when we should have more points?

Our form is shocking and I fail to see how people cant see it.

So what were 6th with a game in hand - we could and should be 2nd with a game in hand

Explain why we 'should' be. And if, as I predict, you are going to throw the £200m into the answer, please at least explain why all those players should have gelled withing no time at all. I'm looking forward to this one....

Why should we be 2nd? SIMPLE - We were 2-0 up at home to Fulham and threw it away and also let the poorest away team in the league command a performance at our ground, letting in 3 extremely soft goals. Thats an extra 4 points we SHOULD have to our name.

more bloody patience FFS! Have to say though NMT and DH's trainng reports highlighting how good the boys were looking etc must be taken with a degree of salt pinching as first half on Sat. did not show it at all !!

Weren't people saying to be patient all last season ? And now again ?
Im not expecting a 10 game winning streak......just a decent perfomance, and if we still get beat then fair enough !

Yeah sure, it's all well and good to not lose when you play badly....if you play badly for 1 or 2 games....but we've played badly in the last 5 games now ! So if this continues for the next 5 games and we get another 5 draws then I guess it's ok ??

Well the next five games in the league are Liverpool away, Hull at home, Chelsea at home, and Bolton and Spurs both away. If we draw away to Liverpool, Bolton and Spurs and win against Hull, I will be happy. I look at the Chelsea gams as a write off as they look fantastic, to be honest. 6 points from the next 5 games, perhaps looking maybe to win at Bolton, will be a good return in my eyes.
That should see us about tenth.

So the wins against Blackburn, Wolves Pompey, Arsenal and WHU were all flukes by your definition?

No, the wins against those teams, especially the first 4, were the result of the optimism flowing through the club, as well as taltented players on the pitch. The place was buzzing, and quite rightly so. At the minute things are not going perfect, but they are not going bad. All eyes were upon us for the Blackburn, Wolves and Arsenal games, because of the money spent, and we passed the test given to us, that euphoria has died down as the season goes on, and so the players now are finding out each others games without all that initial euphoria there to spur them on that lille bit more. We are not losing though and I will make that point until we do lose.

the way we`ve played over the last 4 games, against the opposition we have played, are you confident we will draw never mind win our game in hand

Yes, and here's why. Hull last season were doing what Burnley currently are, but even better. They won at the Emitrates and at WHL, amongst others. WHy? Because they were the new boys and everyone thought they'd be the whipping boys, but they were an unknown entity. Look at them, (Hull), now though. Burnely are goingto have a good first season, which is common for a team never to have played in the prem to do so when they get promotion. I'm not woirried about the Burnley result at all. As for Wigan and Villa away, well if you think they are bad results, you're arrogant to think we should be winning those games....YET. If we were losing I could understand it, but we're not and although we're not winning either, the games we have drawn are ALL an improvement from the same results last season, except the Burnely one obviously, and isn't that what we are after, improvement? There's a steady road to winning titles and cups, and we're well on the road to that, but at a steady pace without rushing it all.

i dont think im being arrogant when i expect my team, to at least look like they are better, than a team that has been put together on a shoe string by comparision. football is a funny game the better team doesnt always win but against burnley, birmingham, wigan, and fulham we didnt look like the team that had had hundreds of million s spent on it.

yes i know it takes time for a team to gel, and as for being patient i`ve not just turned up on the doorstep as a glory hunters, but when we had such a great start, we now seem to be throwing it away. we now have liverpool away hull at home arsenal in the cup chelsea at home and bolton and spurs away. i`d like to think we will beat hull and arsenal`s youth team the rest, the way we played the last four games im not optomistic but will pray

Fulham are a good side, Burnley are doing a Hull, kind of, and our defence are learning ach others games seeing as they have been thrown into an entirely new team together. Next......

Because the whole point of Hughes buying the players he bought was because they all have Premiership experience. They know how the game is played and what is expected. That's why we spent the stupid money we did. If we wanted to give the team 6 months to 'gel' then we could have spent half of what we did and brought in a load of foreigners.

How long are people going to use the 'gel' excuse ?? They've had about 14 games together now (including cup games) and at least part of a pre-season....yet they still look disorganised and clueless at times.

That reply just says that you are happy with the regression in results and performances since the early wins......because we havnt lost.

I would imagine that 9th place at the end of the season and you will be decidedly happy with the season. An improvement on last season.
