For those who wanted Hughes out

What is everyones opinion of him now? Has it changed? Are you willing to give the guy a chance, or do you still think he is a secret agent trying to destoy our club?

Just wanted to see peoples opinions

What choice do we have? I didn't want him in the first place, I think there is a lot more to wish for considering both tactics and man management. He should have been released from his contract in november.

Now we're stuck with him, and I'll back him och hope for the best. Anyway, he will be here until summer and we'll just have to judge him then.

I would agree with that, and I think if we do manage that that the criticisms of Hughes will be quite minimal.

We are only 6 points of 7th place with a game in hand so it is quite possible...

Yes it is.

The squad with the additions so far is looking good. On our day we can beat anyone, take the Arsenal result. Lets not forget we have had some seriously dodgy refeering decisions against us this season, take the Palacacios dive at Wigan & the Dunne penalty shout that wasn't given both in one match. Spuds at home was comfortable until the trigger happy ref started to play with the set of cards he got for his birthday. Then there is the injury situation which to be honest has been appalling and something that I cannot remember us having to this degree before with some of our best players out for so long (Petrov & the Boj) Then take into consideration that after xmas last season under Sven we were appalling and in free fall. Last match to boro was a disgrace, and remember that Chelski put 6 past us earlier in the season. Lets be honest under the swede it was go 1-0 up then defend for England. Shockingly shite. I believe that Hughes is the right man for us, and that with this squad we will finish around 7th as the second half of the season will be good for us.

I want Mourinho, if we get into Europe we are going to need a top manager with plenty of experience, Hughesy doesn't have enough in my opinion.

I hope he brings Zlatan Ibrahimovic with him too.

You could refer to Liverpool and ten mins at Villa. Those are the only time we've capitulated.

Brighton, Nottm Forest, Wigan away, Newcastle 10 men. There have been more.

Bolton away Boro away?

There's a difference between playing badly and 'waving the white flag'. Those games we got beat not through lack of effort, jut bad execution. There's not alot the manager can do about that. I also didn't think we played too badly at Wigan.

Under O'Neill, Villas performances improved every year. From 16th before he arrived, to 11th in his first year, to 6th? last season.

If Hughes manages similar improvements I'm sure criticism will be muted.

If we finish 7th this year and challenge the top 6 then i would see this as an improvement...

I have looked at the fixtures and i reckon we will or should hope to get 28 more points putting us on 53 points
which as you can see we will finnish no higher than 10th which is not an improvement from last year we still have to play the so called big 4 away so cant see us getting much change from any of them but we can win most home games ??????

He's staying put until at least the end of the season and a good shot at 6th is on!

Realistically who else is there going for that now other than the one's who are up there already...

Wigan? Lost Palacios...
West Ham? Lost Bellamy...
Hull? Lost Dean Windass...
Fulham? Losing interest...
Portsmouth? Lost Defoe...
Bolton? Do me a favour...
Newcastle? Oh please you're killing me...
Sunderland? No...
Blackburn? As if...
Boro'? I'd kill myself...
Stoke or WBA? Now we're just getting silly!

I think 7th (6 points off) is ours for the taking certainly and 6th (11 points off) ahead of Everton a distinct possibilty...

I also think if he doesn't achieve 7th, he will and should go... And if we get 6th or 7th with a decent run in The UEFA he'll definitely stay...

What? Spurs??? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
