Forget Recriminations, how do we sort this mess out?

These quotes must have come from another press conference outside BBC and Sky interviews and our own on mcfctv.

For what its worth you can win games of football if you concede two goals in a game ala Blackburn, Leicester and Wolves.

Had we been given the penalty that most unbiased refs would have given in the 67th minute of the game we may have scored three again and won although would we have used Tevez to take it or someone else I wonder.

Have you heard it come from his mouth tolmie? How do you know what he said wasn't meant to come out like that with the language barrier?

I've already argued that may have been the case. All I have made reference to is the quotes as they appear.

What I have been accused of it doctoring something to somehow perhaps cause conflict on this board.

That is what is shameful. I am not allowed to be a valid contributor, without some no-mark allowing his personal gripe to manifest itself.

He actually said 'maybe we should work more hard in training'

Yes, in a BBC TV interview.

Not a written press conference, done usually afterwards, and with most nationals reporting the same quotes.

As others have argued, Mancini chats a lot of shit during interviews due to the langauge barrier.

But the written quotes are all in context with both proceeding and precceeding sentence.

Still no apology!

I think the point being made here is that in the BBC interview you can hear what he says and take whatever 'context' from that you wish...Given the media's agenda with City what the press 'report' as being said is less likely to find favour here...You wanna believe the 'words' that are written more than what we hear him say then go ahead...That in itself suggests to me that you yourself may prefer it that way.

What I heard was an exasperated Manager asking himself the question...Do we maybe need to work harder in training? not one saying 'our training is not working'

I agree.

Too many see the names on the teamsheet and think, fuck me, what a side but the reality is they are not a top team and we are not as good as we think we are.

We are a collection of very talented players that we are relying on individual moments of magic rather than a collective, sustained team effort.
I am beginning to even doubt the actual talents of the individual players. I mean lets be honest.

In goal, Hart is close to the top, but then again goalkeeping this year has been poor league wide, so it is no big shakes to be near the top if you've had 2 to 3 masterful performances, Which Hart has.

On defense, we have 2 very good tacklers in Kompany and Zab (not great though) 1 decent in Kolo, 2 average in Micah and Kolarov, and 2 poor tacklers in Boateng and Lescott.

We have a great header in Lescott, 2 good header in Kompy and Micah, and the rest are average.

We have no one who is excellent at positioning. Kolo is the best and he is barely above average, and the rest are.

Kompany is the only one that makes good decisions on the ball consistently. And for all of Kolarov's offensive instinct. His skills are actually lacking, and his speed negligible. Boateng might be the best crosser of the ball, but his movement are often poor and thus reduce or nullify crossing opportunities. Kolarov on the other hand whips in a good ball but doesn't have the same touch or consisitency. And decision making is still lacking.

So that is our defense

Midfield. One great tackler in De Jong, 2 good tackler in Barry and Milner, the rest are average or below. As ball passers, we have a great one in Silva, a good one in Yaya and average passers everywhereelse.

We have no good header of the ball in midfield. I great dribbler in AJ, 2 good ones in Yaya and Silva, and average ones in De Jong and Barry. others are below average.

Decision making: Silva great, Yaya good. Everyone else average to poor.

Speed is non existent. AJ is quick in and out of breaks, Yaya has deceptive power/speed. But no one is a burner. And everyone else neither has speed or quickness.

Touch: Silva great, Yaya good, everyone else average.

Up top: Balo, Tevez and Dzeko are quite good. Bur chemistry and decision making isn't so great.

Yeah! I'd say we have a good team, but we not that deep and certainly not great

Correct mate. And as a collective of all these players we aren't that good yet really. We lack fluidity, belief, an understanding of each other. We have, as I keep saying, the fourth or fifth best collection of players (we aren't a team yet). So we are on the right track for where we should be. I totally disagree with the thread title, there is no mess! Things are as they are because we aren't great or top yet. We're still developing and things like all this we've been talking about (even not training well) will all happen as part of our development. Ince said it on Sunday. He said in training it could be quite a negative atmosphere in them first few seasons before they won the league at United. We are in the same position as United were when Ince went there. Think of United around 1989-1991, that's City now!

"No-mark"? "Personal gripe"? Priceless. I actually didn't have an opinion on you before this exchange, I was just trying to put my point across about the amount of shit Mancini is getting and how much of it is made up bollocks. It just happened to be you that sparked it off. I've got no interest in conflict with anyone. Grow up.

I would of thought though that what is said in the papers to be taken with a pinch of salt good news or not. The BBC and the OS are the two sources where i take the news as gospel as neither have any need to take quotes out of contex to sell more papers or get more hits online.

I've watched this BBC interview 3 times now since the link was posted.

It's pretty damn clear what he said and what he meant.

Ahh but then in the press conference he said something else...it's in the papers and so it must be true! ;)

It's amazing you conveniently make no reference to the example I had requested of me to post a link.

here it is again

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3388001/Micah-horror.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... orror.html</a>

You inferred that that there was unrest in the training camp from the quote "we have not worked well in training". In my opinion this was an incorrect interpretation.

I'm surprised you have re-referred me to an incorrect quote which i believe was incorrectly interpreted.

I'm also sorry you think I am trying to tar you, I'm just disagreeing with you.

I accept your interpretation, albeit the quote is only incorrect in YOUR stance.

The consensus amongst the written press, at least, is this was what was said and reported.

And at least this can be borne out in the published reports. What managers say in TV interviews and a long sit down with the written press are possibly two separate things.

You described my posting as shameful, and it was not me inferring trouble at camp, Mancini's quotes (whether 'Maybe or otherwise, do this.

I have no problem with disagreement, only accusations towards my integrity.

Endeth ;)
