Forget Trump & Putin - China is the biggest threat to Europe.

"China is the biggest state threat to UK" government statement just now in HoC - but no trial of the spies and hundreds of Chinese 'diplomats' about to take up residence in the cellars of the Royal Mint just a few yards from Whitehall.

That’s some statement as well when you think we have terrorists living in the country.

Since 2017, about 45 late stage terrorist attacks have been thwarted by MI5 and 15 that have sadly been enacted.

Makes you wonder what we don’t know about when it comes to China because we hear very little. We know far more about Russia, Iran and Islamist threats than we do China. So for them to be considered #1 is as interesting as it is alarming.

I'd imagine Chinas threat is more cyber attack based, economic and political interfering with the help of social media bots.

Their attempts to sabotage our critical infrastructure includes the UKs strategic steel making capacity along with stealing intellectual property by infiltrating universities and targeting Chinese dissident students and others living in this country for a bit of gbh..

They are clearly talking about compromising infrastructure which, I think is where we started this thread. It's up to the government to make infrastructure robust enough to withstand their intrusions.

University/IP/spying is done by everybody and we used to be the best at it. But now we cry because the Chinese are better than us? So weak. And gbh on a few students? Some threat to national security that is ....

China's super-rich once considered the UK a place that upheld the rule of law and defended private property—a safe bet for investment. But in the last decade, the UK has leaned more toward the US, emphasizing politics and ideology more. This has actually caused Chinese investment in the UK to fall significantly（only 30% now? ）. I think getting too involved in the US-China conflict is bad for the UK's interests. But the British don't seem to look at it from this angle.
