Forgotten Clubs

Thames FC. Played in the biggest ground in the country, holding 120,000 and had a record low crowd of less than 500.

Rotherham County and Rotherham Town are two clubs most people don’t know about. They merged in the 20s to form Rotherham United.

Wigan Borough played in the league at Springfield Park. They quit mid season 1931 and Mancester Central FC applied to take their place but were thwarted by both the rags and City - the rags asked CIty to not vote in favour of Central as they felt the new kids on the block would over take then 2nd Division United who had a crowd average of less than 10,000
