Formation Last Night...

Adeybayor playing on the wing and Tevez dropping deep all the time leads me to figure it was the new, dynamic 460 formation, with Given under orders to play the ball up high to the areas vacated by the 'strikers' at every opportunity. Pretty simple really ; )

------------------Given--------------------

Richards----- Toure--- Onouha------ Sylvinho

Adeybayor Tevez DeJong Ireland Barry Robinho
---------------------------------------------

Just remind me... who are the defensive midfielders in all this?

Well knowing our manager as we do, he probably went for Tevez

listen, i'm as irate as anyone about last night, but i just think we played spurs a the wrong time:

1. injuries- lescott injured, no swp, no bellamy/bridge=

nedum stepping in- thats an okay swap but he hasn't really played regularly this year but now has to come in at WHL against a good spurs side and do a job.

Without swp- we have no width, no outlet and, i feel, become very predictable.

No bellemy/bridge- makes our left side shit, forces robinho to play an away game which for some reason he cant handle in England. that leaves an 35 yr old left back to match up against one of the best wingers in PL, especially when matched someone slower than him, with no cover.

all i can say is that game sucked but i for one have moved on so roll on this weekend.

Can I pick you up on one thing.....the width point with SWP we still have Petrov and Weiss in the party, surely you would agree that at least one of them would help offer you some width?

i agree that they should have been involved or more involved. i hate playing players out of position like ireland playing on the right of midfield in what was i thought a 4-3-3 formation. we should keep with 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 whatever and play our wing players - petrov and wiess when needed. i'd play robinho in the middle as a striker or right behind the a front man, too, but that is just me. now i know this will be unpopular but i wouldn't play de jong just down to the fact that he contributes NOTHING offensively. we still concede regularly with him in the side and we did have clean sheets w/out him in the beginning of the year while injured. i am afraid we have to outscore teams to win right now, plain and simple. therefore get offensive options out there. Just me though...

So once again...did anyone spot the 442 we played?

And did anyone notice the change to 433?
